Meine Gesangslehrerin Franziska Wachmann hat mit ihm in Stuttgart gesungen. Sie hatte noch in den 1980er Jahren Tränen in den Augen, wenn sie von ihm sprach. Sein Portrait stand auf ihrem Klavier.

Wenn ich lese was hier so an "aller Zeiten" -Geschwätz verzapft wird. Niemand kann in die Zukunft sehen ! Dieser Sänger war & ist bis heute der beste lyrische Tenor, der je gesungen hat. Der Schöpfer hat ihn der Erde gegeben, für einen Moment der Zeit & ihn dann wieder genommen. So bleibt er einmalig !!!

My father introduce me to Fritz Wunderlich in the early 1960's. What a terrible loss to have him depart at 36, two weeks before his premiere at the Met. I hang on his every phrase in appreciation of his amazing talent and artistry, and memory of my father who loved beauty so much.
