In your youtube search also look at the Hitena knot, a much cleaner lower profile kot affording you as much strength. It is a spliced hollow core. I would throw a single catspaw through the solid ring though as you do - it just seems like a less vulnerable connection to bft teeth

What works best for me is using hot water to shrink the tube, evenly. I put fresh water in mug, and then place it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, to heat the water. Place the assist hook with the shrink tube on it, into the hot water for 30 seconds. The process works better than a hair dryer, flame or heat gun.

Awesome vid mate, but you need to turn your music down and talking audio up, I have to turn my home theatre up alot to hear you talk, then the music comes on and the outside of my house is shaking and the neighbors hear it.

dunno why people call em wind knots the loop is from the line laying across the top of the spool after you cast...you can avoid them better by closing the bail arm before your lure hits the water.
@nacllures6975
@nacllures6975 Жыл бұрын
Just a general term for a knot forming in your braid for a variety of reasons. Generally theyre caused by line coming off the spool faster than it can get through the first guide. In this cast it was caused by casting directly into the wind, with a long leader which had about 2 meters of leader on the spool. The leader is slow getting through the guides. Long leaders always increase the risk of “wind knots”.

@@nacllures6975 I got sciencey on this with a camera and all my 'wind' knots I had came from the line laying across the top of the spool after casting the line laying over the spool caused a loop when you make your first wind...I reduced these by closing the bail arm before the lure hit the water or looking at the spool before winding....definitely increase the risk casting into the wind.

Hi , im located in southern California and our yellowtail( king fish) is not nearly the size of new Zealand king fish . i notice a lot of people fish with spinning reels . in so cal spinning reels are considered inferior to conventional reels . spinning reels are kinda looked down upon here as beginners reels . my question is why are spinning reels so popular in new Zealand? Thanks
@nacllures6975
@nacllures6975 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! High end spinning reels are very reliable and great for ease of casting and fishingting big fish. They have come a long way in the last 20 years. I guess it just comes down to personal preference.
