You can tell they are just fearless because they know the show so well. Amazing!

Damn, the high cam view really exposes just how beautiful the drill writing (and execution) was in this show.

I agree. I thought this show was rather overrated until I saw it on high cam.

It’s 2005; why are there only 17 people in the stadium? Is it some type of qualifying round?

This video was taken by staff from the upper deck, which I think was only open to staff and judges

I am hearing in little parts starting at 12:00 echoes of Star's Medea from 1993. Especially from 12:08 to 12:12
@highstimulation24972 жыл бұрын
you're not imagining it. I 'heard' they wished to not have to pay for the rights to Medea, so the brass arranger composed something reminiscent of it, called "False Mirrors," I believe. Totally though. I totally hear it.
@highstimulation2497 Жыл бұрын
in fact, on the pre-season recording, at 12:18, though it was replaced by a pit feature (as in this performance,) there were "obvious" riffs from star 93.

I remember lots of fuss being made about amplification at this time. I believe 05 was the first year you had a voice over with amps in a show. I was fortunate enough to see the Cadets early season in 05 and I knew they had a winning show. I got to see them at rehearsal that year too and again, blown away by everything!

Interesting considering cavies had the most props that year.

I remember having the preseason on CD, is was crazy hearing it. The hornline was crazy talented and totally different sound from them than in 2004. And then seeing them rehearsal. I knew that this show was going to win. They rehearsed their butts off too. I think slowed the temp down too from preseason.

Wow! What a show! Thanks for posting this high-cam view from Giants stadium. The Cadets were seriously amazing that year. Every section was super strong as they would go on to win every caption and every sub-caption at Finals. That's never been done before or since. I'm not saying it's the best overall show from any era, but from a mastery standpoint it certainly is. Musically I liked it and it was not meant to be overly emotional but more thought provoking and cool. The ballad is awesome and does provide some emotional pull. The visual program is off the charts. To me, Cavaliers 2002 and Cadets 2005 are two of the finest visual programs you will ever see. As we get into the 2nd decade of the 2000s things do change with more body, staging, props, costumes and more theatrical design (even more than we saw in the 2000-2010 time frame). So I try not to compare shows from different eras. Not really an easy or fair thing to do.

I think it is the best overall show (for me) and almost every section had some insane emotional pull from me. Especially the drum feature and then everything else in the whole show. Wish I could experience it live :).
