This is not a sport. For 146 years people have been backing yearlings to race as 2 yr olds and then run for the triple crown as 3 yr olds. Science tells us a horses is not fully mature until age 5 to 6. If this "sport" cared about their horses they would not be running babies. Medina Spirit still had baby teeth when he died. There have always been crooks like Baffert in the industry of cruelty. Do you know how many horses have died since Medina Spirit died? Check out Horseracing Gone Wrong. They are keeping track of all deaths from all tracks across the USA. This is not just about 1 crooked trainer and Santa Anita.
