A friend of mine also use tubing for a busbar, but he flattened it. I doubt there will be any sparks as there must be quite a big voltage difference with now other means for the electrons to move before it will spark. However, there is no real advantage to flatten it. I use aluminium bar for a busbar.

Flattening it would allow him to properly tighten the nut and arcing would only occur if the connection isn’t tight. Arcing issue would be more likely with a tubular shape because it tends to flatten when you apply pressure to the sides. Also mechanical crimping of lugs/sleeves/terminals over SOLID core wire will loosen and fail over time.

I LOVE your ingenuity! New subby here. How would you connect it to the busbar to charge your batteries. Do you have a playlist of projects like this where you build components instead of just buying them to do solar projects? Thanks for sharing.

I use solar charge controller. When not enough battery power from sun I use alligator clips from chargers powered from the generator. I dont currently have any Playlist for my different diy projects. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching

The lack of quality in the American Farmworks stuff is definitely not the best. Plus parts are very hard to get for their stuff these days as well.

How recent have you looked into that? Ostrich are not considered exotic anymore. They are now a farmable commodity. Let me know what you find out. Most city's and states won't update their list right away and may not even know that their was a change.
