I wish she’d gotten to Rio, her bars were even better by then. In London the best she’d scored was a 15.7 something so I’m not sure she’d have won gold even without the two on the low bar. We’ll never know unfortunately.

It did earn gold in that instance- and for good reason. I just wish- especially after the 2012 games she could have gone to Rio and had a second shot. Her bars were even better by then, the true gold standard.

Yang Yilin is here because her pirouettes are just perfect, and always finish on top of bars...Svetlana is gorgeous to watch and always adds that list bit of zest in her routine. But honestly in today’s standards, her pirouettes would be hammered...

Yang Yilin probably would've had the cleanest routine of all time if the one cast to handstand was better and she didn't take the hop. NO one finishes that many pirouettes in a handstand so perfectly.

Shows why these countries were the top leaders for decades. Until recent decades the top gymnasts were East German, Romanian, Soviets, Chinese,and Japanese. These girls showed why Eastern European and Asian countries topped the leader boards at almost every international competition including the Olympics !
