I installed the first phase of this offense today. I think as long as your team has the basic principles of. Filling opposite corner Pass and screen away And you teach the reads based on the progression of the play. You’ll be fine. Just don’t rush your coaching. Stop and break it down as much as you can within your time.

We installed it in the preseason for all of our sub varsity teams. Two weeks before we used it in a game. Took most of the first season to start seeing all the options it presents but that's probably my fault. Ha.

Love the drill, but two comments on the Canada. In younger (4th or 5th grade) games, your wing players that far from the three point line might not draw defenders out in actual games. The spacing is great, but not if the defense doesn't honor deep threes. On passes from the corner up, not having the corner player basket cut costs you a double gap opportunity for the wing they just passed to.
@GetBetterBasketball2 ай бұрын
Thank for checking out the video! I am glad you like the drill! At the 4th/5th level I would definitely hone in on decision-making and adjust the spacing to suit your needs. Good spacing is hard to come by so the sooner you start to teach it, the better. Good suggestion on the corner. That corner cut can impact ball reversal, so you just have to make sure the wing attacks the double gap.

I'd be surprised if the two defensive forwards would play outside your double stacks. That would literally leave a 4 on 1 against the center.
@GetBetterBasketball3 ай бұрын
If they play inside we will pin them for an easy shot. I note the F on weakside could be inside. Any way they defend it, you can adjust which is why I love it. We have seen both in, both out, playside out/weakside in, and them get in stacks. In a traditional 2-3 in the half court teams like to hedge the F on the wing so a lot of teams will keep them out or 1 and 1. We have options however they play it which is why I like it. Thanks for watching!
