Ok this playthrough confirmed one huge thing for me since I don't play 99: 99 is a lot more forgiving with bumpers having more pattern based/predictable movement (except for Blues) and the knockaround physics are much much bouncy in original SNES. That makes me think that I would be able to play 99.

Big Blue II in B feels rather low. It may not be the best fox track but it's a very fun track to drive on.

So I've encountered a problem with my download. I have it installed and patched, but when playing, the time goes up way faster than normal, causing me to be unable to finish the first track, lol. Not sure what I did wrong.

@@NarokathYes. With the exception of silence 2 it’s really frustrating to have to go against my f-zero instincts of attempting to front run. I know it’s bad to barely miss a skyway on any course barring a weak room but it’s especially bad on fire field, white land 2 and silence 1. To me F-Zero should be the opposite of what Mario kart is (aka Mario party racing). I believe it’s possible to satisfy the casual RNG fest of Mario kart and the hardcore skill-based racing of F-Zero and not have to compromise either much. The skyway is fun to use but I wouldn’t want it back if there’s gonna be a new F-Zero

@@Surl9596 I agree. I was initially put off by the skyway mechanic when 99 came out but then realized it's a necessary "evil" to bridge the gap between players of different skill levels.

Good call! PS2 is the way to go. But if you can't, then the Enhanced Edition or the remake is a great alternative!

Is it the best thing ever? No. But since I only have a series x, it’s my only way of playing silent hill 2 till I get a ps5 or whenever they release it on Xbox. I don’t have the money to track down a working ps2 and silent hill 2 copy, and even if I did I wouldn’t when I could just get a ps5 for the remake. I still thoroughly enjoy my playthroughs of the game, even though it’s nowhere near as good as it should be. Also has a fat bonus of getting sh3 as well which is awesome.

I agree, it's better than not being able to play it at all. Hopefully you'll be able to experience it on either Enhanced Edition for PC or the remake that just released.

If you want to fully enjoy the origina with enhaced quality without compromising the game, play the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition mod instead. the mod is free, but i'm not sure if you can still get the base original sh2 pc game files legally.

It's real funky to hear "Nintendo never puts details in their patch notes" (or equivalent) as a Splatoon fan where they are very detailed about balanced changes and explaining why in other news, I'm confused on the "max lobby" comments because I almost never see lobbies with more than 30 people. has everyone just gone to private lobbies now?

Oh, it doesn't happen that often in public lobbies as it used to. Except during the beginning of an event like Anniversary we have now. Some 9:59 Grand Prix lobbies can reach 99 humans during some times of the day. The Flan private lobbies reach 99 humans almost every time he streams on Twitch.

All that is left are Forest I-III, and Metal Fort I and II. The healing sections could be added to Forest I and II as they were originally designed to be timer-based that you are allowed to keep on racing or crashing until time is up to go to the next course.

I don't mind them being kept as they are in BS F-Zero Deluxe, they are quite short enough. In 99, with all these people, it would be fair. If they add the "classic" versions too, however, they could revert that back since 20 people is fine under these conditions.
