What people keep forgetting that the Eagles was Glenn Frey’s band. Even Don Henley has stated that. Frey was the one who asked Felder to join nearly three years after the band started.

Felder never thought it was a hippy commune. He had a contract. It was disregarded. Gratitude is hard to come by when you are counting your money. Disregarding a contract is the American way. Hell, we did (and do) it to the Indians all the time.

And tbe heart if tbe problem why they fell apart with Don, is money... They should have been equal parners in the money, and that's how you keep unity... And they were all multi millionaire's... and to be so petty to screw your fellow bandmates out of money is the root of all evil... GREED.

Azoff was supposed to represent the entire band, not just Frey and Henley. Also, Felder was part of an equal 3-way split as part of their partnership since Leadon and Misner relinquished their shares. So there were greedy b*****ds and broke the contract. I’m glad Felder stuck up for himself. Frey really came off as an ass here….he slams Felder for complaining that Frey’s robbing him.

Felder got robbed and they settled with him out of court and he’s never said another word about it. So they probably gave him his percentage points back and a hefty paycheck to go away.

All these people loving saying so & so is better than him, they are all talented period, just shut up. Without Henley, Frey, & Meisner, the Eagles wouldn’t exist in the first place, without Walsh & Felder, Hotel California wouldn’t be as iconic as it is, the whole album, not just the song. Quit comparing them, quit bashing, just shut up & enjoy the music they put out. Things change, their egos were too big to remain together forever unfortunately, Frey & Meisner are gone now, we will never see the original lineup together again. Just enjoy the music.

Glenn Frey was a bully. Verbally and physically. Every member who left the band did so after a physical fight or threat of one with Frey. At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction the band members had to endure Frey's shouts and interruptions as they tried to speak. Don Henley is a piece of work.... high and mighty and virtuous now, but what a womanizer in the day. I can barely stand his self-righteousness. At some point he decided to remake his image via political and social issues , and by golly the rest of the band had better go along. And then he and Frey decided that contracts don't mean anything. Man were they surprised.

From the start it was supposed to be a legally binding three-way equal partnership. Henley and Frey were egoists, Felder wasn't. They screwed him. And, oh, BTW, he was by FAR the best musician in the band, and he composed the music for their signature tune. It's a disgrace how they treated him,. but at least he doesn't have to play benefits anymore for the likes of lefty loonies, like Alan Cranston.

How much do you have to have before it's enough. Henley and Frey were always worried about someone infringing on their music. Henley doesn't appear grateful in his old age. He seems bitter that somehow someway someone must have stole a dime from him at some point.

I’m so glad that Don sued. Legally they had an equal partnership but somehow Glen and Don Henley along with Irving decided to gaslight Don Felder. They squeezed him out but contractually they really didn’t have the right to do it. I know that Don Felder is under NDA and cannot discuss the terms but clearly there were legal ramifications for what Don & Glenn tried to do. If Don Henley and Glen wanted to have a greater share because they wrote most of the hit songs then they should have legally structured the band that way from the beginning but they simply did not.

Henley and Frey seem to have turned into total control freaks. I saw Henley years ago at Red Rocks. It hardly even addressed the audience and everything sounded exactly like it did on albums. I should have saved my money and listened to Henley at home.

Nodount they werw greedy egotistical and controlling but if i had cheated something like the eagle's and new of its potential, I believe I'd be stingey with it too, because like it or not, 1 fuck up can cost us the whole shootin match.. and its not like its easy to start over.
