I have never seen that pen case on the Montblanc website. Just an idea, next time you do a product review video do it without the condiments in the background.

I have the same one you do. For a nib that fine, it's exceptionally smooth. My only issue with it was with the threads on the body/section. It felt rough. It's cleared up some since. I suspect the threads weren't cut properly or cleaned up. The cap goes on perfectly.

@@Reflekks I'm a bit confused right now. I currently have a TWSBI Eco with a fine nib, but I really want a pen with a medium nib. I'm not sure whether I should just get a TWSBI with a medium nib or upgrade to a 14k gold nib and buy a Custom 74.

Useful info. Thank you. I have a few Tactile Turns and just bought a Bastion as I like some of the Parker-style refills. I'm waiting for it to arrive so I can see what I think. I ordered some little things from Tactile Turn that will adapt their pens to use Parker refills so I want to try that. The Bastion will have a hard time taking over from the Tactile Turn for me as I like it very much. Thanks for your video.

Some tips from someone who actually used this stupid case: You do not have to open it to take the pen in or out and you can can „clip“ the cartridge protector over the cartridges, thus fully grabbing them - there no point to this, but if feels nice to do.
@mrk1313245 ай бұрын
I love the 147, but the case that comes with it is totally pointless. It looks nice though.

hi, this might sound weird but i found your channel because i was browsing reviews on tactile turn pens... i bought a tactile knife, and loved it so much i looked into buying one of their pens to keep in my knife slip...anyways, long story short i watched your video and subscribed...i have a recommendation for your leather journals...there is a company out of BC, Canada named Popov leather, the only affiliation i have with them is they have beautiful hand made leather products and ive got a ton of their stuff...

Just a few weeks ago I bought another Montblanc Traveler pen with the case. Just like you I was curious it was fake or not, because I did not see any metal ring around the star and the star was not alined. I was just searching on the internet if my one is original; or not. Because you mention that you had seen ones without the metal ring around the star, I directed my attention to the stars in the photos and noticed what you said. I had never noticed this before. These cases were made to protect 147 Traveler somewhere around 1993-1997, if I'm not mistaken. That is why they are hard. If you want, you can soften them with bitter almond oil, or almond oil.or cream.

That moonman c1, does it burp when eyedroppered or leaking to the cap as pictured?
@Reflekks9 ай бұрын
I’ve found it depends on the ink. I never had any problems with burping or leaking, aside from a few teeny drops in the cap after jostling the pen, until I inked it with Edelstein Golden Beryl. That ink really just loves to get in the cap.

I would have a nib grinder look at it. I've had this happen with some of my more expensive pens and a nib person can tune it and fix it.

Archival is that its Ph neutral. Non Ph neutral inks and paper degrade over time. Go into your grandads library and pick out an old book. If it was made of pulp the paper will be yellow and brittle because the Ph of the paper is too low. It will kind of smell like almonds ;p

Did you find this red to be a good shade for your Christmas letters? I'm getting some soon for my December journaling ink set. From what I can tell, it will be on theme, but "strawberry" isn't exactly a name that conjures Christmas memories.
@Reflekks10 ай бұрын
Yes I personally think it’s a good bright Christmas red. Not the darker shade you sometimes see, but a good bright one.

I have the case with the snowflake surrounded in black without the silver ring, and it is also misaligned. My case is also very stiff and I feel like it will crack, which is why I never use it. I have another single pen case with the flap at the top and it too is very stiff. Another Montblanc case I don't use because I really feel it will crack to to the leather being so stiff.
@themisterchristie11 ай бұрын
The Jinhao is actually a very nice pen, in my experience the problem comes to quality control sometimes being inconsistent. I have 3 Jinhao 80s, two work great, the third has drying and flow issues. I've had my all black for a little more than a year and it's holding together very well.

Constructive critique: I stopped watching at the 5 minute mark as you were still speaking about refills. My suggestion is that you work up a script before shooting the video, that way your presentation is not as wordy and may hold a viewers attention much better. Good luck, hope you have lots of success in the future.
