It’s a replica of the cabin Henry Thoreau built in the 1800s. No electricity and no running water. The family that built it open up their home (100 yards from the cabin) for showers, food, toilets etc. I stayed there for 7 nights and cooked some meals over the fire. For most, a one or two night experience is best to experience how life would have been back then.

Beautiful. When I was a teen, in the 70s, we used to vacation there. The place sure has changed since then, but it's still beautiful. PS I wonder if anyone here remembers the Angler Motel.

ya know, ive lived in new england my whole life, connecticut born and raised, been to misquamicut beach many times, i MEP'ed out of chicopee mass, ive been to vermont to help drop off my best friends sister off to college, and ive been ro new hampshire and saw the ice castle, but for some reason have never been to maine, i really do want to see it, and this looks like the place to tour!

Years ago my wife and I visited Venice Saturday morning for the Farmers Market. We met the most beautiful friendly people. We absolutely fell in love with Venice so much we bought a home there and call Venice our 2nd home town! Venice, WE LOVE YOU!!
