I really hope not I want to finish the game before the Elden ring DLC. I have made it harder for myself by not building my stats properly, but it is not an impassable problem.

Just saw this in my recommended so I figure maybe I could give some input. The way to deal with them is to focus purely on one of them in the first phase. Killing Ornstein first is usually considered easier because Smough alone is very slow and easy to kill. Something to keep in mind is that this is a big patience fight, so try attacking when you see an opportunity rather than attacking whenever you want to. Also, Ornstein is resistant to lightning, and they're both resistant to it in the second phase, so I'd recommend using that lightning spear on Smough in the first phase. Edit: Oh and another thing, there's sort of an unwritten rule in the DS community that you shouldn't fight if you're under half health. It's just a threshold to make sure you always have back up if you get hit. So try to be wary of that. In terms of your damage output, you seem to be doing very low damage with your weapon. Have you made sure to upgrade your weapon? Make sure your dexterity is leveled up as well.

you get 5 estus flasks at a bonfire unless you're human and you kindle the fire. firelink shrine gives you 10 and future fires will remain over 5 until you drop below the 5 then it will fill back to 5.

You can just run past the worm enemies, they won't attack you.... I've killed maybe one of them and i've beaten the game a dozen or so times.

@@epicgamer2670 In short dark souls is pure but unrefined in some ways. playing Elden ring first definitely helps me understand dark souls better, if I did not I would not be progressing through the game as much without outside hand holding. the one thing I hate is the running jump I am at Ornstein and Smough and I'm halted by them. The running jump is irritating because maybe unfairly I blame it for 25-50% of my losses. but the bosses seem fairer or more intuitive so far. I will hopefully have a more Indepth thought later on. Sorry for the jumbled paragraph I did not put much thought into comparing the two beside me complaining about how controls feel.

@@OldmanDewey all good man, I definitely get where you're coming from. For that specifically, if you hold out your shield while sprinting you can roll as much as you want, without jumping if that makes sense. I usually make it a habit to hold my shield everywhere I run just in case I have to roll quick I can do so without jumping. Could give it a shot 🤷
