I had the rather nutty pleasure and honour of captaining Heath in our high school 1st XI. I was just a kid, but he was even younger. I'd bowl him all day from one end and nobody could touch him because of his incredible speed. He was, to conservative Lower Hutt-ites, an odd seeming kid (so was I and how I ended up captaining a future Black Cap, anyone's god knows). I think life was hard for him back then; he was teased a lot for just being a little bit different; he was quiet and had a few ticks that were pointed out with mean intent behind his back. Schoolboy stuff, but still - shitty behaviour. Looking back I wished I'd taken him under my wing a little bit and let him know he was good human being, not just a freakishly good athlete, which to me seemed to weigh a little on him. I loved watching that season against Sri Lanka, was so proud of the bugger. I actually think coaches and so on mucked around with his action too much, as they did back then. He had a really tight action as a teen, Bumrah-esque run up. Didn't swing the ball but was super accurate, the inverse of what he was later maligned for. Go well, young man - hope you find what what you're looking for in this weird old world.

In this case, the mum seems to have a lot to do with the apparent success of their home education. If the parents don't provide the necessary encouragement or don't have the time, skills or intelligence to guide them in the right direction, then their education is likely to go south very quickly. I have no doubt these particular kids would currently have a clear advantage over their school-going peers, however, at some point (probably in the later years of highschool) the kids who go to school would overtake them in most subjects, especially in STEM subjects. So I think this is fantastic for learning the basic fundamentals - maybe up to age 13 or 14, but not ideal for advanced topics unless the parent is very well educated or they learn by Correspondence. This mum seems to be on-to-it though, so I'm sure they'll be fine - But it's definitely not for everyone.

But what do we want to do with these debates about who did what and sighed what 180 years ago? How would this work. Do we scrap democracy, set up an Māori and others …. Something, votes for everyone’s then some xtra for others of an ethnic background. How dose it work. What don’t we like about now, if some group is perceived to not being well ordomepartofthelandisbeingdestriyed, will this fix that or just add another layer of dispute. Not sure the end goal is going to please somehow, or is there and end goal , just disaffection and anger that might just ruin more than it creates? Not sure.

Polynesians navigated the Pacific using star matauranga and inter-laced twigs indicating ocean current patterns. Thousands of years later, the Aratere ferry and the Manawanui sinking in Samoa were both due to the crew's lack of knowledge of the auto pilot system. Now we are asked to trust the advice of Nicky Noboats?

MTS completely failed to inform Maori and defend against Mass Anti-Maori Disinfo Campaigns. While MTS employees talked about it on private social media. While living well. That lot need replacing ASAP. Any 'progressive' Pakeha Media needs to swing in beside Maori Media, uniting for something stronger to push these abusers out. Colonialists and Kupapa Title Chasers belong in the past.

My tipuna signed He Whakaputanga 28.10.1835 and Te Tiriti 17.2.1840. Pōmare believed he had not given up any sovereignty and stated that he was not able to in any case, as it belonged to all of his iwi - Capt Clendon. He Whakaputanga Article 2: The sovereignty/kingship (Kīngitanga) and the mana from the land of the Confederation of New Zealand are here declared to belong solely to the true leaders (Tino Rangatira). Te Tiriti Article 2: Her Majesty the Queen of England confirms and guarantees to the Chiefs and Tribes of New Zealand and to the respective families and individuals thereof the full exclusive and undisturbed possession of their Lands and Estates Forests Fisheries and other properties which they may collectively or individually possess.
