Thank you Jeff! I mused all your expertise and experience shared in this video to tuck my first large calfskin head today. Albeit it was a bass drum head, but ultimately it was a successful endeavor and I have now successfully restored my first 24" 1920's Bass Drum! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! Michael

Super nice. The drums sound great as expected but it's the cymbals that are getting my attention to be honest.

Fernando, I just came across your video. Just FANTASTIC. I am so impressed. It makes me wish I could have played like you! Quite frankly, I don't think it would matter on which kit you were playing, it would sound THAT good! Thank you.

Hello Mr Prentice, Thank you for your instruction. I bought a pair of old timpani from around 1900 with kalfo heads. I was warned that the heads are very fragile, therefor I would like to have spare synthetic heads. However if I take off the counterhoop, the inner hoop with the skin stays firmly attached to the counterhoop. I am afraid I will ruin the kalfo skin when I try to seperate the hoops. In your video the two hoops seem to detach easily. Can you give me advice on how to separate the two hoops without damaging the Kalfo skin.

Soak them carefully in a large tub or shallow body of water... 4-6 hours should soften them enough to remove them without damage. They were put on wet so the same conditions will make it easier to remove them without damage.

Sois maravillosos
