LOVE me a giant Lars pony. He was an amazing horse. Huge to stand next to, let alone sit on during a cool down. You brought back some amazing memories. Thank you for posting.

His canter looks so much more rideable! [bolts down longside…] riding is hard lol😂😂 He looks great! That mustache on the other hand…happy bday, merry Christmas, happy new year and all the best in 2024! Love seeing the updates, please keep them coming even though I’m sure you’ll never be a KZbin millionaire ;)

you know its good when you can watch and watch and the horse tells you he is happy and super “tuned in”. The ears and expression say it all even in moments of learning.

I took lessons from Dietrich for several years! I cried a lot but wow did I learn stuff. This was in Southlands Vancouver. This video looks like CA. Chills listening to this voice again. I was yelled at a lot more than you.... ;)

Wow, I think I maybe saw this once at K & D's house back in the day. Even if Woodi wasn't the most dynamic mover, and Kim quite a young GP competitor at that time, the correctness in the training shows -- he takes weight on the hind legs in piaffe and canter pirouettes, the changes are straight, the canter zig zag is ridden perfectly, and it's mostly harmonious (except when Woodi is thinking about spooking in the beginning. ;) ) I was privileged to ride him occasionally in my 2 years at Blackwood ('85-'87), and he was the most challenging horse to sit to the trot on the farm! I admired Kim's riding immensely, but especially because she could sit him so well! He became mostly Dietrich's horse in his last years of work, and they formed quite a bond. He was always challenging and always improving.

Jeremy- thank you so much for uploading these 1- lovely to see your riding but 2- most lovely to hear Dietrich's voice a major flashback to my teen years when I was able to clinic with him.

Very nice to see someone riding a thoroughbred correctly. Looked effortless except for the pirouettes near the end and he tried to canter while doing the extended trot across the diagonal. What did they score?
