Your moonstones could well have an irridescent effect, but in Ontario we have a number of such feldspars with different names. Your labradorite is incredible. At our mine we have a lot of crystals from calcium vein-dyke fissures - amphiboles, titanites, mica etc. We dig them ourselves and have about 50 acres of claim beneath the forest. As we recently learned we likely have ferri-fluoro - katophorite which forms as skins over crystals of amphibole (nowhere else in the world).

Seeing that teal aventurine reminds me: I bought a sage aventurine palm stone after I saw yours (what can I say? I saw Cady Heron wearing army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops 🙃) and I’ve noticed that the more I handle it, the greener it gets. I got a second piece at the same time (that I don’t handle) that I can compare it to, and it’s definitely getting darker- it’s greener now and has dark spots in it like regular aventurine. Have you noticed any color change w yours? And do you have any information about that material, other than it coming out of Brazil? Any idea if it might be treated to obtain that whiter color? It’s really beautiful and I love it- I just can’t find any info on it.

Whoa- that barite at 12:10 is incredible. You can definitely see it fluorescing a little bit. Oh man- so good! So is ALL of that Linwood Calcite. Can’t wait to see the new merch and the mystery box when it gets here, btw!

Your mantle looks amazing! Decorating w my crystals is one of my favorite parts of the seasonal changes- especially winter. The icy blue kyanite, the sparkly Apophyllite- so wintry! Also- I feel you on the rose quartz- it’s never been my go-to, but I’m feeling more drawn to it lately. Thank you for letting us into your space. Take care of yourself!
