0:18 My father still owns his 69 427 that he bought new and it still wears it's original Fathom Green paint. The Forest Green on this 70 sure has a lot more metal flake. It must really sparkle in person.
@Turn5_Guy12 күн бұрын
The Forest Green metal flake really was eye catching as I got closer to the car and could really see it in evening sunlight, along with the engine, interior, wheels and other details making me take a closer look. Your Father's original paint 69 427 Corvette must be awesome too, and probably still can giddy up and go quite fast!
@TheInsaneShecklador11 күн бұрын
@@Turn5_Guy It's fast for an old mostly stock car (cam and headers) but in today's world of Tesla's and Hellcats it's not. The sound of a high compression cammed out big block at idle and the sound of the tri-power end carbs opening at full throttle cannot be matched by the newer cars though.
@JJMite15 күн бұрын
its a post, those look like grandma cars. shouldve done this to a hardtop and ditched the wheels. nice color though!

A hardtop would've given it a sportier look for sure!

Nice car but not a true, original bb…hood is dead giveaway…so it’s also not numbers matching….like those center caps tho…also lose that dorky shifter please….all in all a very nice car, just not what it appears to be…

It's a 69 with some awful aftermarket fender flares. 🤐

Small block hood is the main tip-off. Mild customizing includes flaired fenders, shaved cross flags emblem from nose, flat center caps with knock-off wings.
@Turn5_Guy20 күн бұрын
First one to mention the cross flag emblem missing from the nose, good catch!
@billydee805123 күн бұрын
The dashboard, door panels and console are not 1970 Corvette interior parts. The 1970 Corvette had faux stitching molded into a lot of the interior components. Also, the hood is for a small block. With the exception of the wheel flares, pretty much everything I'm seeing says this is a '69 Vette. Regardless, this is a beautiful car and thanx for sharing.
@Turn5_Guy22 күн бұрын
Yeah the flares threw me, it should be a 69 model, thanks for the insight!
@billydee805122 күн бұрын
@@Turn5_Guy Having owned and restored four 1969 Corvettes, I tend to get in the weeds on the detail. One thing I've noticed on the '68 and '69 Corvettes is that the vinyl material in their interiors seem to hold up a little better than the interior vinyl of the immediate later years of the C3, '70-'73. I'm not sure if it's a change in the chemical composition of the vinyl, the stress risers created with the molded stitching or if it's all just my imagination. 🙃

It's a 69 corvette with 70 fender flares. Not sure if the flares are enough to make it a clone. This Vette is also an original 427 car, you can tell by the 5600 rpm redline on the tach. 69 427 390 and 400 hp Vettes had this tach.
@Turn5_Guy24 күн бұрын
Appreciate the insight, this must be a 390 hp 427 with the 4 barrel carb. I think the 400hp and 435hp had 3 2-barrels if I'm not mistaken.

I had a black 72 for 3 years. I’m not a big fan of green but that’s an awsome green color. And it’s a 69 I think.

Forest Green poly a PPG color should be the color, yeah it should be a 69 model with the 427, 70 and later did not have it.

That 427 sure looks good in that engine bay. Wish Ford had done a better job with the trunk lid fitment. you can see why the trunk floor pan is rusted out on many galaxies, that gap between the trunk lid and body 😳. Good thing you got a 427 in it. You can outrun the rain storms lol. Mine has a tired 390 and had to have the pan replaced. Now if someone would start making a new metal trunk lid, the world would be alright

Thanks for the reply, I saw another youtube channel: autorestomod manic mechanic gasoline media has a video how to and what all fits the 63 Galaxie trunk lids, he is entertaining as well. Hopefully this helps keep the smiles per mile rolling along!

Cragar SS or Magnum 500s would look good too, The car is going for more of a modern restomod look with bigger wheels and smaller sidewall tires, which in person looked pretty good, but can look out of proportion from certain angles.
