This brought literal goosebumps - so many years later...I know this wonderful woman. Ms. Hicks was my Bible teacher when I went to Central...I will never forget one day she brought a guitar in and sang to us, and how beautiful her voice was. She had no idea what a comfort she was to me during a very, very hard season of my life. I couldn’t begin to think of a more deserving teacher for this honor. It does my heart good to know she is still at Central Cabarrus. Kristie Chapman, Class of 1992

@@snakeshifter02 I agree. The first two years were meaningful, but after that, I realized that STEM can’t provide anything meaningful in the current educational situation. Every STEM class is pretty much a relabeled regular class.

I had these teachers for two years straight, and they are probably the best teachers I have ever had. They never once pushed their beliefs onto to their students. If they happened to talk about their views/beliefs, they would always listen to the other side of things with an open mind and they treated every single one of their students with respect no matter their political views. I wholeheartedly believe that their words/actions were twisted in a way to make it seem as if they have something against students with differing views. Again, I would just like to say that they are outstanding teachers and Central Cabarrus High is lucky to have them. ❄️

considering the fact that i was a student who went through both of the teachers classrooms not once but twice and came out with a higher knowledge than what i went in with, i’d say they were doing their jobs pretty well. to say you can force your own beliefs on your children because you simply are the parent is embarrassing. i have been in said teachers classrooms with people that completely disagreed with the teacher and she did not take matters into her own hand in some vigilante way. it was never said teachers attacking students. maybe it was you’re children who failed to tell you that in the classrooms they made the other people around feel disrespected and uncomfortable. it was when said teachers noticed that the tone of the classroom changed she put her foot down. the english teacher mentioned is the most objective unbiased teacher in any classroom that i’ve ever had. she never once mentioned any political belief she had and strictly taught the outline of the course. it is downright disappointing to see that these parents are belittling teachers in such a public forum with no regard to the circumstances of the times we are in. read the room. ❄️. they have their degrees for a reason and they are excellent teachers. these comments are outdated and unwarranted and only fit the narrative of the student who i believe twisted the story and only told you one side.

@First round exit fan Thats unfortunate. Where I live, and send my elementary age child, theyre doing an outstanding job. The community must take some accountability for the spread. People taking trips to walmart just to get out of the house, isnt the best idea. I hope you have options for what suits your families needs.
