For the money Alvarez and blue ridge make some fine acoustic guitars. That won't break the bank. And sound just about as good as a Martin or gibson. For the money.

Recently purchased an OM60c. I have a Taylor 814,gibson songwriter and have owned a few Martin's, a d28 and d18. The Alverez is my favorite. Not sure if I just got lucky or there consistant. It's sound is stellar and the neck... wow! The Mohagany used for the back and sides is highly figured. One of only a handful of guitars in my 30 years of playing that just plain inspires me. All for under 900 brand new. I highly recommend anyone looking for a beautiful sounding and playing om style guitar, and don't mind "maid in china" to check out the Alvarez Masterworks series. I played the bg60 dreadnaught in the series before I baught the om. It was JUST as good as my d18 in my opinion. And the neck was better for me personally. But the OM was just plain special...
