Different Fishman model here, but same situation… I had a pair of Gretsch Rancher acoustics, one with factory installed Fishman Presys II, one with no pickup. I wanted to install a pickup in that one, so ordered the eBay version (branded Fishman Isys+, which was what the Presys II used to be called). Compared it to the factory original unit. Only difference was the tuner LCD display was slightly different. Possibly an upgrade when they changed the name from Isys to Presys? The tone and functionality is exactly the same between both the factory installed Presys II and the eBay acquired Isys +. I’ve since bought a few more of them to keep as spares for easy swap-outs if mine die

This worked perfectly for 2 samples but I have been having trouble getting it to work on another song the same way. I’m just not getting that same scratch effect like the other ones it just seems to be stuttering and going from low to high pitch. Any tips on getting that crisp scratch?
@Billkwando
@Billkwando Ай бұрын
Maybe it needs to be a longer sample, or maybe it needs to be edited more closely at the beginning and/or end (just trying to think of everything). If it's too long or too short to really get your fingers under, you could try speeding up or slowing down the actual audio file, by half, which would give you more or less length to play with, depending on what it's doing. If that makes any sense! Also, sometimes you really have to just barely flick the wheel.

Thank you for the video and for you're try. But it sounds just like someone that have no idea what to do with a turrntable and a mixer fader... It seems that the imaginary DJ is moving the vinyl back and forth and openning the fader randomly... I was trying to figure out how to build a preset like that but it will take a bit of time to doi properly. This demands reversed sounds, too. And different cuts lengths. Some loops with different tempo signatures.

Yep, I moved on to Traktor and the original NuMark mix controller, but for something thrown together with a plugin and a wheel, you can get some cool effects with it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIS5q3aLqcaAms0si=RFnlfjNH_tTG0HUH&t=1127 Or at least I think so, and the video has 200 likes, so clearly I'm not the only one.

@@Billkwando Hi, Bill! I hope you are doing wonderfully. Thank you for replying and I intend to check out your tips - from what I saw, the link points to a person fixing a lamp that is the ship from the Star Trek series. Scratching is not just the result of moving the record without knowing what you are doing and opening the fader minimally within the rhythm of something. Usually, those who know how to scratch try to produce percussive or melodic patterns like a rapper tries to do with lyrics and rhymes. DMC Finals ''88 - the dutch guy, the sweden guy, the french guy and Cash Money. Building a patch for this requires much more than just putting a version of a sound into a sampler and using the modulation wheel or pitch wheel. This is a reasonable amount of work, if you understand the dynamics of movements reduced to "back and forth" (like playing a guitar) and the result caused by "zero momentum" and the variation in speed that this causes, like throwing an object 3 meters above your head (it gradually loses speed until "zero momentum" and gradually accelerates back in the opposite direction). Incorporating this basis into all the possibilities of "opening and closing" the fader and shaking your fingers for quarter notes and half notes (and etc.) on the vinyl and on the fader is not an easy task...
@Billkwando
@Billkwando Ай бұрын
@@marceloribeirosimoes8959 The link is mine, and I time stamped it so the music in the credits would play. Which features the technique. I understand everything you're saying, and you're welcome to create it. my trem bar isnt hitting but it still sorta stops ha;f way through the swing on the pull up
@Billkwando
@Billkwando 2 ай бұрын
Check both the arm holder and the trem block. I forgot to mention that I did shave the trem cavity at an angle, with the dremel stone bit. Basically the part that the block would run into when pulling. I pulled the trem out, and in the big 0 shaped hole, I just contoured the wall of wood that's parallel to the block, so the bottom of the block wasn't touching when I pulled. Also make sure it's not getting hooked under the pickguard, if you have one. The foam under the springs may be covering it up, but basically right at the edge of where the foam ends, that's there I angled it. A lot of guitars have a concave notch cut out where that corner of wood is (some Kramers and Jacksons, I think). Let me know if you still can't figure it out.

You don't explain much what are you looking for in intonation 😮
@Billkwando
@Billkwando 3 ай бұрын
I may not have explained it well because I'm coming from a guitar perspective and maybe assuming everyone knows (I haven't rewatched the video), but what you're looking for is for the 12th fret to match the open string on the tuner, across the strings. You move it so that the highest and lowest strings are intonated correctly, and if the bridge is well made, the rest will take care of itself. If the note is flat, move the bridge forward (Remember flat=forward), and if it's sharp you move it back. You want to keep rechecking the high and low strings since naturally moving one end of the bridge may move the other end, somewhat. Hope that makes sense.

I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't need extenders so I sold the Moza 12" wheel that came with the nice screw-on metal ones, and threw the shitty plastic ones in a drawer. If Simpush is selling metal ones now, they should screw through the existing hole in the paddles and then connect to the metal extender on the other side of the paddle.

Thank you for the video! I am having a hard time deciding between the different ken models, and i was wondering which in your opinion delivers a more original l'arc tone, your van zandt fernandes or the fender custom shop one. Thanks a bunch!
@Billkwando
@Billkwando 3 ай бұрын
Well, I love them both, but when I play "KK" (LA-85KK) it's almost always the stock humbucker. I kinda just put the Van Zandts in because I clearly can't leave anything alone (yesterday I scalloped frets 21-24 on my Ibanez RG, like a Vai). Honestly the Van Zandts have basically never been used because I don't know what Ken uses them for. LOL You see, I have always played the Ken guitars primarily in Rocksmith, for the L'Arc songs I've made (see my videos here on the channel) so if I'm playing anything before Ark and Ray, I play KK (which I love and have great sentimental attachment to...she's so pretty!). If I'm playing anything after, from Ark on, I use the Love Driver. The only exception is Driver's High, which needs 24 frets (and even then I use the humbucker) and some of the super crunchy stuff like Trick that he uses the flying V on. I do love the Fender pickups (I installed them, of course), and the Love Driver is probably my favorite all-around guitar. I have 2 Satriani models that I adore, but the LD-95KK is the only strat I own/play (not counting the purple one, which was my late wife's first beginner guitar). The Fender pickups sound great and have gotten used a lot. I would put that Love Driver up against any official vintage strat. If I was going to go play in a bar band, the Love Driver would be there. It's a classic.

I kept the simpush, bought a 2nd ES wheel, and now I have the 10" for arcade games like Daytona and Outrun, and I have the 13" for sims. I can just pop one off and put the other on, and if one of them ever breaks (electronically) at least I have a 2nd one.
