To remove the front grill, take up the four push pins, then pull the bottom edge of grill forward. You can look down inside and see the 4 forward facing u-shaped clips. Just wiggle it forward. Then the outboard edge of headlight lifts straight up,with a tug.

You forgot to mention the last clip, right on the bottom of each housing. It must be pulled straight up or ( as I did it ) released by a longer thin flat blade screwdriver..otherwise it will fight you since you are pulling straight ahead while the clip needs to go UP...

Thought I could get away with not removing the grill, but the assembly was being so stubborn that I finally caved and took off the grill. SO MUCH EASIER. Hopefully I remember to go ahead and do that the next time I have to change a headlight bulb. 🤦

This is INSANE to change a lightbulb. Shame on you Ford and engineers. In and out on my Mazda 3 in 2 minutes, just pop bulb cover and twist bulb out.

Just a suggestion to quickly make your video better, add edit in a small pic of the clips under the grill, and the clip at lower right under the light fixture and the small plastic piece that juts from the center, top left bolt plastic that you have to lift up to remove the fixture. Otherwise fantastic video!

easier to do it the way the dealer does it ,more likely to break the grille and what about aiming the headlights after removing them, do it for dealer way!

I would try and make sure the lights work,and don't forget on some bulbs don't handle bulb with bare fingers the bulb will be damaged ,because of the sweet or oil from skin ,not all the same

There is a special tool to remove those clips

This is the second or third time I've needed to use this video, so I'm leaving a couple of tips for myself and others. There is a little pin by the middle of the 3 bolts that stops the top of the grill from moving out. Get some bulb grease when you buy your replacement bulbs. My guy at O'Reilly said corrosion is the main reason our bulbs burn out early. Thank you, everyone! BTW, if this 70 yo grandmother can do this, you can too!

This video was very helpful for replacing the headlight bulb for my 2010 Ford Focus. There is a sneaky clip on the bottom of the headlight assembly which is why you have to yank that up to get it loose.

THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO OF HOW NOT TO CHANGE YOUR HEADLIGHT BULB! Simply loosen the hose clamp on the air box and remove the hose from the air box. Disconnect the wire going to the air box sensor. Remove the two 10 mm screws and lift the air box out. Now locate and remove the bulb by turning it counter-clockwise as if you were sitting in the driver's seat. Installation is reverse order. It only takes about 7 - 10 minutes. If you are replacing the bulb on the passenger side. Remove two 10 mm screws and swing the coolant bottle out of the way. Locate and turn the bulb nut counter-clockwise as if you are sitting in the driver's seat. It only take about 5 - 7 minutes. Installation is reverse order.

a shop wanted 100 for this job. $18 for the bulb. Do work you’re comfortable with at home folks! Don’t let people gouge you!

DO NOT CHANGE THE BULB LIKE THIS....YOU ARE CREATING EXTRA WORK IF YOU DO!!!!! This video causes people to think the engineers are dorked up and they should....well just look at the comments below as a result of this video and there's someone else on KZbin saying to do it the same way. Open the hood and look at the left side of the vehicle as if you're sitting in the driver's seat (all references are from the driver's seat). You will notice the air box. Look to the front of the air box and you will see three 8mm bolts. Go ahead and remove the bolts. Next you will see a large hose that connects to the right side of the air box. Next to the clamp securing the hose to the air box you should see an electrical connector. The connector has a red lock tab at the bottom. Slide the red lock tab toward the front of the vehicle until it stops; then, remove the connector by pulling it forward. Now stow the connector out of the way. Now is a good time to loosen the clamp securing the hose. You don't need to remove the clamp; only loosen it enough to remove the hose. Now grab the bottom of the air box and lift it up out of the way. All you are doing is removing a rubber plug from the inner fender area. The air box should be able to lift out. Identify the connector on the rear of the bulb. Squeeze the tab and pull rearward and the connect should come loose. There are two tabs or wings (for gripping) grab them and turn counter-clockwise and the bulb will come out. You can apply some dielectric grease to the connector if you like and assembly is the reverse order or disassembly. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE NEW BULB WITH YOUR SKIN. IF YOU DO SIMPLY REMOVE YOUR BODY OILS FROM THE GLASS WITH SOME ALCOHOL. If you follow these instructions you will have removed 3 screws, loosened a clamp, and disconnected 2 electrical connectors. You are welcome and have a great day. Be careful when watching how-to-videos on KZbin. I'm not an authorized Ford mechanic but I own four of them. When "SteelTheAnthroWolf" stated the Ford mechanic said to remove the air box; that's all I needed to hear. After all, the Ford mechanic does this task as a living.
