Great video! Many people may know this aircraft from topgun! Where they used these to simulate MiGs
@TheContentCreator10110 сағат бұрын
Did they? I never knew that. I've always wanted to see a MIG at a museum. The ones that do have them are very far away. The Skyhawk on the other hand, seems to be one of the more plentiful aircraft at many of the museums I've been to. In regards to the video, I combined video from both times I was there. Trying to make the most out of all the footage. Some of the other videos I wasn't so lucky to be able to recycle some of the older footage.

I have an uncut 1966 M151A1. I’m not sure how it escaped being torched in half. There were three models, easily visually identified because the original M151 had no turn signals, the M151A1 had the small fender top turn signals like yours, and the final M151A2 had large composite signals mounted in dips in the fenders. If yours A1 has the three belt generator, your engine may be from a later A2 model, every M151 and M151A1 I’ve seen had only two belts, the three belts debuting with the A2 model in 1968 I believe. But I could be wrong. Another way to tell is the fuel pump. M151 and M151A1’s had an electric pump that was inside the gas tank and it ticked fairly loudly when it was running. So not only were you sitting directly on top of 17 gallons of gas, it was ticking! A bit unnerving at first. The A2 replaced the electric pump with a mechanical pump mounted on the side of the engine like most civilian cars of the day. On the M151 and A1 a vacuum pump resided in this engine side location to run the vacuum wipers, not needed with the A2’s electric wipers. That is all just meant to be informative and certainly not intended as an offense to yours or anyone else’s MUTT! A motor pool did whatever was necessary to keep them operational, including engine swaps, and so do we who now restore and enjoy them.

Possibly the museum had modifications that could have made them mistaken the variation? I personally don't know. I'm just the camera man trying to learn how to be a better camera man and to bring awareness to the awesome things these museums have on display. Hopefully, if you're ever in the area you could stop by their museum and inform them of the information you provided. Thank you for sharing.

To state that oxygen is not dangerous is irresponsible. There are strict safety regulations on it's use, storage and transport for good reasons.
@TheContentCreator10121 күн бұрын
I was only a cameraman. With that said, it is only dangerous because it is in compressed tanks. Any gas in a compressed state in a tank is dangerous. Oxygen itself isn't dangerous unless you're exposed to high levels for a long period of time.
@grnsouth120421 күн бұрын
Pure oxygen is absolutely incredibly dangerous. Not to breathe as long as you don't descend below enough water to give it a partial pressure of 1.6 ish atm, but pretending pure oxygen isn't dangerous is kind of low brow.
@TheContentCreator10121 күн бұрын
I'm just the cameraman. With that said, he was a pilot not a scuba diver. Of course just about everything can be dangerous in certain situations. He was just suggesting the fear of oxygen being dangerous was overblown.

@TheContentCreator101Ай бұрын
Originally this video was longer. KZbin flagged a song playing in the background, so I had to cut the video shorter, and reupload it. Suprisingly, it didn't flag any of the other songs. I thought they would have flagged "This Is It" by Kenny Loggin towards the end. The music was only for demonstration purposes, and I didn't get to choose any of it. Glad you liked that song and luckily it didn't get flagged.

Great to see the evolution of music technology. I just was wondering how the mechanism played with the first electrified unit at 2:45. How does the record make contact with the needle? It is pushed in a slot at the front like a car cd player. Thanks! Cheers from Canada.

Phil didn't elaborate on how they work but they do use a tone arm like other record players. Once the record is inserted the tone arm is lowered onto the edge of the record. This website explains more about that particular model. www.radioremembered.org/Philco46-1201.html
