@@paulknight9998 I appreciate the compliment, but let's give the "AI" obsession a rest. The day this outtake appears on the 'Walls & Bridges' Ultimate release will come sooner than the day "AI" can whip up a unique Nicky Hopkins piano arrangement, nail Klaus Voormann's typical early-take bass flubs, capture Lennon improvising an melody just like his early demos, mix it exactly like the modern Lennon Ultimate series outtakes, and throw in a genuine Jim Keltner comment, all at the same time. Where are these supposed edits you're talking about anyway? It's a breakdown take. What's wrong with the sound quality?
@paulknight9998
@paulknight9998 2 ай бұрын
@@thefiremanrushesin You just submitted the script you fed into the AI. The edits in the dialogue, they're a little abrupt, they don't flow naturally. In that context the content of the dialogue comes off as a little...calculated. The audio is too high fidelity. It could pass for a 1990s recording but definitely not a recording from 1974. Good try though.
@thefiremanrushesin
@thefiremanrushesin 2 ай бұрын
@@paulknight9998 Oh, I see. Then why was this broadcast last week on SiriusXM as part of the LENNON 360 series during the Klaus Voormann episode, as one of the “previously unheard music and studio out-takes directly from the Lenono Estate” as stated in the press release, which is the source of my upload? 🥲You just couldn’t accept it, could you… A tip on audio for next time: your precious “AI” obsession would actually make it sound way more lo-fi and artificial than this. This is a 1974 16-track recording, made in the best studios with the finest analogue equipment and top engineers. Modern studios in 2024 would kill to sound like they could back then.

The team started teasing us through radio broadcasts, I was floored when this suddenly came on out of nowhere. Also included were a few other bits like an unreleased 'Whatever Gets You Through The Night' outtake, but there's already hours of bootlegs for that one. It's obvious they've been preparing and finalising boxsets for all solo albums for a while.

@thefiremanrushesin
@thefiremanrushesin 8 күн бұрын
@@jkruppa I did, but those snippets are bootlegged before. Which is not surprising since as you know about 2 hours of various session tapes for that song are bootlegged almost in full. It's all polished up though, lots of notes throughout that bit are very slightly or obviously pitch corrected. I personally don't understand the point of 70’s outtakes if you’re going to edit them like how a finished studio record in modern times would’ve been done. This started at the 'Mind Games' boxset and it seems they're going all out for the 'Walls & Bridges' one.

Pitch-correction, really? On the Mind Games set? I just can't understand why they need to do this! I want to hear the natural vocals of the singer.
@strangedaysindeed9
@strangedaysindeed9 2 ай бұрын
@@Flowerbranche There has been patching all over the place on these boxsets, which to be honest is justifiable to me, to make it a bit more "presentable". This practice goes back to the 90's Anthology (Beatles or Lennon). But actual altering of pitch (or timing) of what a late great singer originally sung is to me ‘not done’ and beyond the point of releasing outtakes. But yes, they started (at least noticeably) doing it on the ‘Mind Games’ boxset. And we can prove it by comparing some of the same takes to pre-pitch correction era official releases (1998 Anthology) or raw bootlegs. Most of the time it’s very slight tuning (and/or patching from other parts or takes) though. But obviously on this ‘#9 Dream’ outtake they went all out on it. For those who really wanna know… ‘One Day (At A Time)’ take 16 is the best example: a raw tape has been bootlegged, it was properly mixed and officially released in 1998 and now again in 2024. For the 2024 (re)mix of that outtake there’s for example a little bass patch at 0:49-0:51, but a bum note like at 2:07 is being left alone, so it’s far from completely sanitised. But for the vocals there’s tuning on the - here we go - “day” at 0:48, very slightly the “oh” at 1:09, the “eve-“ at 1:41, the “do” at 2:13, the “is” at 2:21, the “you” at 2:29, the “tu du du’s” at 2:36-2:37, the “du” at 2:44, the “apple” at 2:58, the “’cuz” at 3:00 and “’cuz I’m” at 3:02…

Apart from rough mixes (which would've come from acetates or master tapes) not a single note from these sessions were ever released, and every single other Lennon solo song was.
