It is a sacred Aussie dance. It must be respected and we should be paid to perform it.

Aah Russell, you take me back. In 1961 I was that kid. It was a lit ciggie, and the dope clipped my nose too. Small circus (menagerie of donkeys and ponies) set up on paddocks just around the corner from our place out in the sticks. Paddocks and house are gone now, but Parramatta NSW is still less than 3km to the East.✌all...

He was funny,I like the episode when went to central Australia meeting the two aboriginal men speaking their native language & he had no idea what they were saying.smiling away at them, agreeing while they're thinking he's a very odd character.

Their's the other stuff too, like the hole in wood changes sizes, the stool is too high and honestly he's ruining his knife. Plus I absolutely love my camp chair its worth $200 and its amazing.

That specific dance evolved from the early settler days when the Scottish and Irish used to unwind after a hard days work prospecting the land in and around coastal New South Wales. The blokes used to drink ales and amuse one another with their moves, it was the birth of the Shindig and was filled with humor and comradely. Mateships were formed and strong bonds between the workers cemented in the early 20th century Australian rural life. As time passed Sheilas also joined in on the fun and what we see today is a historical timestamp of the early Australian cultural period that represents the hard lives of the early settlers. It really was a big part of the birth of Australian humour and social constructs in particular the laid back attitude of the Aussie personality has its foundations here and the dance Russel is doing is highly representative of larrikinism or the larrikin; a free-spirited and somewhat mischievous person, uncultivated, rowdy but good hearted person. They were tough times but the all conquering Aussie spirit always knew how to unwind and relax. And today we know that Aussies love a good Shindig and know how to party.
