Wondering if your Young Heng compressor lasted? I haven't had any luck with them, filling my tank from 200bar to 300bar. I have two Acecare tanks, and so far they have been great. Should have a review on the cylinders done tonight or tomorrow. Also just bought a GX CS-4 compressor. So done with the Yong Hengs...

When i used the Yung hen compressor I used the ice chest freeze pack to help the water temperature and install a automatic transmission radiator with a fan to help keep the water cooler, put 30 percent antifreeze with the ice additive, this works very well. Although I had three of them two just quite while running had to replace the piston rings offen and one blew completely apart. So i purchased the twine cylinder Tuxing compressor and it fill bottle quickly for it's size and the cooling system works.

What you did wrong was to screw the hammer spring screw in 5.5 turns to start off with. You should have started with the screw turned all the way cc (back) and then started to turn the screw cw (right - in) to increase the pressure. Thats why your first one failed!

The bigger your water tank is, the better... it ABSOLUTELY matters and makes a difference. The higher volume of water in your water tank, the colder your water will stay... because that compressor is assuming it cycles the water back into the h2o tank. So the water gets warm, then hot, then HOTTER much easier/faster the smaller amount the water you have. More volume = cooler water, cooler water = more cooling the compressor. It's whtly the ice packs help that particular compressor. I footed the high price tag for a huge GX 5ke compressor... fills these 6 cubic feet, 9 cubic foot bottles in under half an hour. My pcp's, smaller bottles, and mid sized bottles are done in 2 minutes and less. It has a very high quality onboard cooling system that uses the "ice antifreeze for quads and dirtbikes" and has a computer regulated system, it's own small radiator inside and has a port with a small hose at the bottom for easy changing. It has an onboard hour counter to keep track of maintenance schedules, and I can get messages sent directly to my phone for system checks and reminders. It's about 120 pounds and it looks exactly like an over sized "pc unit" with wheels and handles for moving and hosting up if you need to use a lift to pick it up off the floor. It has a super quiet fan, unlike the ear piercing LOUD AF fans on most mid sized compressors that only have a fan. It can be run until the bottles are full and don't need to be stopped and waiting for cool down. It only sits about 2½ feet off the ground and isn't insanely huge like most of these higher powered compressors. It has a grated housing on the sides so you can see through to the inside... and has a cooling fluid window with a little paddle wheel in the window to show flow. This thing is absolutely incredible and GX said if anything at all ever breaks or goes down, they will foot the bill for a small stand in compressor if needed, they will send even more parts, than the tons of extra parts and pieces needed for replacement for atleast 5 years, and they will automatically replace it if it breaks in anyway. I was gonna save money and buy a 600$ typical mid sized compressor, but since I bought all the extra large scuba bottles for refilling, I wanted something that I didn't have to shut off, wait for it to cool down, 4 or 5 times and hours and hours to fill all my bottles. I have a lot of pcp's, custom pepperball VKS MONSTERS that can shoot full auto and can be cranked up to shoot stainless steel z ram slugs 125-130 joules... BB and pellet-guns... and a ton of big bore air hogs. The choice was a simple one for me. I hope I can sell someone into getting one of these GX 5KE compressors if it is in your means, and you shoot a lot of a lot of big bores like me. Thanks again for the video, bud!

Thank you for this video! I just bought a "GX - E 5k2" compressor for $2,500. It is their largest high-pressure compressor that is electric and not run on gas. I was going to buy one of the typical compact compressors that you can hook up to car batteries or a wall outlet. Then, I started reading every review that was available to make a decision on which one I was going to buy. Most of those mid-range little box compressors basically all took quite some time to fill up a 90 ci carbon fiber ninja tank or a pcp with a large bottle. I have a ton of smaller bottles for all types of different pew pews, I have ALOT of big bore pcp's with big bottles that just EAT air up. I have 2 evanix Rex's, one is a .45 cal, and the other a .50 cal. I have many AEA pcp's that all range from .30 cal to .73 cal. I have many fx's and Hatsans from .177 to .50 And a bunch of umarex Gauntlets. I have many pellets and BB-guns, and I even have a few fully custom-made "less-lethal" pepperball VKS MONSTERS! all will custom parts, power upgrades, and kits. They are .686 cal and I have z ram stainless steel pointy slug... my vks's are shooting over 600 fps and over 120 joules! So, needless to say, I have a lot of pew pews to fill up. I have a few first strike 124ci carbin fiber tanks, small bottles, and I literally just bought 2 - 9 cubic foot bottles, 2 - 6.8 liter bottles and a few 90ci ninja bottles with 2900 psi regs on them. So the mid-size tanks weren't gonna cut it! Lol, so I absolutely went for something much much larger. I settled on the GX 5k2 that can fill a 9 liter bottle in under 15 minutes, smaller bottles are filled in under a minute and a half. It has an onboard cooling system that takes antifreeze for dirtbikes and quads. It also has its own radiator and computer chip ran system. So it's not loud like the mid range compressors that only use a LOUD AF FAN to cool it! Mine is nice and quiet... It's no louder than a dishwasher being run. Anyways, I bottle all those larger bottles and never had to install the fittings and valves on them. All the ones I ever bought before came pre-installed already. I've been trying to find a video on how to do this because I don't want to blow myself up, lol. Thanks, my man

Liked and subscribed. Please report all data in order to do my calculations, for example, ((250 bar fill - Regulator Bar) x 14.504 + 14.7) x 0.00127 x 480 cc tank x 4 fpe/grain air = 4,987 fpe total; therefore, multiplying your shot count by your projectile fpe cannot go over the total fpe available, but the variable 0.00127 can vary the total fpe by around 40 fpe, or plus or minus a shot, so please report the temperature in centigrade or fahrenheit. If you could do one video with the tank fill to 250 Bar, regulator at around 125 Bar +/- 10 Bar, but please report as accurate as you can, or place the regulator pressure gauges perpendicular to the camera and we can freeze frame and take the reading. Also, the exact shot count to regulator pressure, projectile weight and velocity. The objective is to get the best combination of power and precision that leads to accuracy, which is obtained at 0.7071 fpe per grain of projectile for Olympic 10 meter indoor competition and up to 1.7543210 fpe for long range head-shot hunting power and accuracy (precision). Above will give more power, but precision will suffer for less accuracy because you are entering the transonic range of the sound barrier 0.8 Mach 1, where the speed of sound is 20 x the square root of the absolute ambient temperature. The Macro, micro, and valve adjustments should be adjusted and left alone throughout the shot count to get a more accurate prediction. For example, at approximately 18.4146 degree celsius, one grain of air has exactly 6 fpe at time equals zero where the valve has not opened, and the projectile has zero fpe because it has not moved at time equals zero. Using a 700 mm barrel in 25 caliber, the grain of air will have 2 fpe at time equals muzzle, and will have transferred 4 fpe to the projectile by the time the projectile exits the muzzle, and according to the conservation of momentum and energy, non of either can be created nor destroyed, only transfered. Putting quantum mechanics, phonons, nuclear, sound, light, thermo energies aside since they are very small, lets just concentrate on the air and the lead (Pb) energies. Seeing your yard shooting range and wind, I would not start with the Olympic 10 meter velocities. Start with 1.7543210 fpe per grain of projectile and back down very slowly, but do not go up with pellets, only with slugs, but I'd avoid slugs untill I tune for pellets first, or vice versa, but stick with one, or things can get very confusing. Lastly, keep in mind that pellets travel in spirals within spirals to where you can have a smaller group at a farther distance than a closer one, so if you tune to say 50 yards to a sub MOA group, you might experience 25 yards and 75 yard groups suck. the lack of multiple harmonics is a great way to sell pellets to find the one pellet that fits all ranges. Too high of a velocity on a pellet will cause it to spiral past the apex if it goes over 40,000 RPM, but up to the apex it will be right on, so calculate your rifling not to go over 40K RPM. You probably have a one in eighteen twist rate, or 1 turn every 1.5 feet, so 1,000 fps divided by 1.5 x 60 seconds per minute equals 40,000 RPM. great shooting up to the apex, but then it will spiral out of sight before it comes close to the target. The 40,000 RPM is temperature, pressure, relative humidity, elevation sensitive. Remember, to double the projectile velocity, you will need four times the energy, so higher velocities are costly for shot count and precision for accuracy; unless you are shooting at titanium alloy soda cans, you do not need to high of a velocity. Great video, can't wait for the next.

I had three new baffle model Avenger .22s that had regulator creep. All three would creep up 200 PSI in seven minutes and 600 to 800 PSI overnight. Yes, I degassed the Avenger doing the regulator adjustments. My desired pressures for tuning were 1400, 1800 and 2000 PSI. Of course the dealers will say that it wasn't degassed before adjustment or will be tested at 2900 PSI regulator pressure. This is probably enough high pressure to seal the Delrin ring in the regulator even if faulty. Just expect to be gaslighted on this issue and the consumer is made to look ignorant. We are told to manage our expectation on the Avenger. It is only a $300 air rifle were are told mainly by the sellers or their propagandist. I bought the Avenger with the expectation of not finding perfection but there are issues that make the Avenger a $300 lamp post. My experience with air rifles is above average but regulators that can't be fixed nor are there any spare parts available is above my skill level. The Avenger had a poppet problem that took over a year to fix. Are creeping regulators the next year long fix?
@Ryland35767
@Ryland35767 2 жыл бұрын
My experience with the Avenger .22 has been with five different rifles. One had POI shifts that made it totally unreliable. Another had torque on the shroud that pulled the barrel downward causing a low and right grouping that was beyond my scope adjustments. The other three were the new baffle models that had identical regulator creep at 200 PSI in seven minutes going to 600 to 800 PSI over night. Air Venturi could not find regulator creep in the last Avenger I returned, don't know about their test of the other two. They test at 2900 PSI on the regulator and I use 1400, 1800 and 2000 PSI which creeped. The high pressure test of 2900 PSI is probably enough to seal a faulty regulator Delrin ring and lower pressure is not enough to stop creep. Three things learned dealing with those faulty air rifles and people who sell them. Parts are not available. Dealers will not admit to any regulator creep, it is always the consumers fault due to not degassing the rifle before adjusting. The poppet valve defect took over a year to correct. Last, when trying to address the regulator creep with the seller and other dealers who also sell the rifle, one would think their religion was in question. Most times I felt gaslighted to the point that no competent person would question the perfect regulator. If the new baffle models have a manufacturers defect with the regulator, we are probably looking at another year to solve.

i just sent back a .22 avenger because i was getting nowhere near the shot counts others were getting after the third shot string- the first two- @ 1900 reg roughly (hard to gauge with the small reg meter), got 113 the first string within a 20 spread range- 98 the second- then it began dropping bad- by around the 9'th or so string, i was getting only 52 consistent shots within the 20 spread range- and this was even way down on 1400 reg with only 1/4 turn (Could not get a setting where i was getting under about 880 or so- Even @ 1400 reg- something just wasn't right) So, i was getting low shot count, and high fps even with low settings- I went back up to the 1800 reg setting, 1/4 turn still, and was getting about 950 fps- all the testing was done with 14.3 gr- Emailed Tech support- they didn't know what was going on, so sent it back for exchange- i coulda lived with a drop of say 20 shots in the shot count after a few strings or so- maybe 30, but not 65- that seemed a bit much. I took a tissue laid it over the breach, but saw no air movement- so i don't think the probe seal was bad- Whatever was going on wasn't allowing me to get lower fps, and of course a good high shot count- I woudl think i should be able to regulate it down low enough to get in the 600 fps range if i wanted to? (Not that i would, but i should be able to shouldn't i?)

Not sure if you tried this or not but sometimes if an air rifle is out of air the hammer leans on the output valve just enough to open it a tad and won't allow it to be filled.. By cocking the hammer allows the output valve to be closed and allow it to be filled.. When there is some air in the tank it is enough to keep the output valve closed even though the hammer may lean on the valve.. If you are nervous about filling the air with the hammer cocked then just back the hammer all the way out so it isn't leaning with any amount of pressure on the output valve..

Wow, how in hell did you know the red knob was not a valve? It looks exactly like a valve knob to me. Of course it would not turn so I just figured it was stuck. Long story short, I couldn't get the set screws out to remove the "knob" and examine the "valve" so I ended up cutting it off. Sure enough, they fooled me, so now I get to machine a new "not a knob" pressure gauge protective housing with set screws that fking work. Of course none of it came with instructions. Also, wtf is that small tube really for?

I used to be an Air Venturi dealer and bought 3 of these rifles when they came out; one in every caliber. The rifle was degassed because they are not supposed to be shipped with a pressurized cylinder. That said, the .22 I bought functions flawlessly and in the testing I've done is very accurate. The .25 and the .177 both had problems and the .177 still has problems. Neither of those had the 5 1/2 turns on the hammer adjustment that Steve reported but the .22 did. The .177 had the 2nd dirtiest barrel I have ever cleaned (a first gen Gauntlet still holds that title) and it had a regulator that was taking about 3-4 seconds to return to setting after each shot. With about 100 pellets thru it now the regulator is taking about 1-2 seconds to reset. So that is getting better but still needs break-in time. But here is the lesson that in my years shooting and selling air guns most folks just don't want to embrace. A $300 rifle will probably perform like a $300 rifle. Between glowing reviews and rifles that exceed expectations as a result of constantly improving technology (much more than because $1000 rifles can be had for $300) many buyers, especially new buyers, are disappointed when the guns don't perform, or develop problems. These are really nice little rifles for the money. With some work and tuning and pellet testing they perform quite well. But anyone who is suggesting that you are going to buy a $300 rifle and have it perform like and FX Crown or Air Arms S510 Sporter (had both; sold the Crown--kept the Ultimate Sporter) either doesn't know enough to recognize the vast differences or is delusional. If you are in the market for a nice $300 rifle that will out shoot many of the other rifles at this price point the Avenger is a good choice. If you want a super smooth, accurate, consistent and competitive rifle keep saving up and buy what you really want.
