It's am awesome game. It's rough near the end but nothing changing the difficulty to Story does not fix. (That Final Dungeon is Pharos level of tedious)

She's my fav Persona character overall, she faced her problems as soon as saw a possibility of a real solution in the Phantom Thieves, her social link and half social link with Sojiro are awesome, her part in the story is incredible, all those things about her palace from writing point of view is perfect, the voice acting (both english and japanese) are flawless.... only good things about her!!

ah, im good at trees SO stumps themselves do not grow once the tree is cut, but some can send out new growth very abundantly (redwood trees are a good example, bright green bush near the roots around a stump) its not unheard of for stumps to hang around a very long time, theres some wood that bugs will not eat and if there isnt a lot of bacteria or mold to eat the rotting wood, it could hang around for centuries. ironwood, for example, is very dense and does not rot much at all

Also, I won't lie. The Dohalim battle theme was hands down the best track imo. Just the emotion of the events prior to him losing control, and when you hear him scream, "ENOUGH!!" I was invested.

I still need to finish this game. I stopped playing around the time when we reached the guy that nabbed shion (I can't think of his name). Got to the castle, and the game froze. I lost 2hrs of time (normally good at saving when I see a save point but I was having too much fun learning Law) and took a long drawn-out break from the game. Your vibe and positive energy got me in the mood to play it again. Thank you for helping my workday go by a bit smoother.

So… I couldn’t play Futaba’s social link for a long time… because I am so similar to her. I even look just like her. I was a shut in, with agoraphobia. I stayed home and played games and messed around with tech. Her story was just too close to home for me for a long time… Understanding all of these elements of her story has slowly been such a journey for me. In so many ways, I am her and she is me. Seeing her learn to challenge the lies she is telling herself, leading to keep her hiding away from the world… well, I know exactly what that is like. The way you phrased it about HER being the treasure in her own pyramid was beautiful. And I think I’ll remember that for a long time. I know I am a good person, a brave person, a fun person… but I spent so long hiding away letting my own fears tell me lies. Tell me I’m not likeable or strong or confident, or capable of anything. But it’s not just about what the world can bring ME, it’s about what I bring to the world too. I have so much to give, and like Futaba I’ve helped many people close to me find their way actually. The persona games will forever be in my heart, but Futaba… well, she truly is special. Just like me :) I am special for my own reasons too. I just have to remember it. Embrace my true self, fears and all.

I am so late to this video. I have played Vesperia, Zestiria, Berseria, Arise and Symphonia most recently. Zestiria was my first entry into the series. I adore Sorey and Mikleo and if we go by what the producer of the game said, Sorey was not given a female love interest on purpose. The general consensus with many is that Sorey and Mikleo are both gay. They grew up together, have the same dreams, complement each others strengths and weaknesses. Honestly, it was so refreshing to play a JRPG where there was no annoying female love interest that there was little to no chemistry with the male MC. Sorey and Mikleo are committed to each other, wholly, Mikleo in the epilogue is still exploring, waiting for Sorey to come back.....I adore the skit where Mikleo comes out the baths half dressed and Sorey calls him a babe while talking to Zaveid! Mikleo is the best boy completely. I adore him! I also love how Sorey knew Mikleo's true name....but in Berseria, a skit says that Seraph's don't give their real names unless they are say family or lovers with someone as it is so intimate for them.

Even though they arent called shepards but instead Oracles, Siegfried was one as well and the Guy at the water Temple in Zestiria, i think it was Asura was also one. Also some of the Seraphim u meet in Zestiria where Former shepards. I also wonder how many Lord of Calamitys there also where before and after Velvet, Because Lailah make it Sound like there where more then just velvet in the past. Where do you habe the Information about Eizen eating the Lord of calamity before Heldalf? Btw did u recognize how Artorious as well as Michael created the Lord of calamity of their time? Just wanted to add this.

This is years later but I just discovered this video (and the Yuri analysis too which was great) despite being a big Vesperia fan and I gotta say your thoughts reflect a lot of my own especially when it comes to Yuri's vigilante arc I feel like Duke and his whole plan was basically showing what Yuri could become at the most extreme end of the path he was following and its subtle but Yuri does learn and change (Yuri vs Estelle I think also shows how Yuri doesn't always need to do the dirty work like he feels he does) with the help of the party Its not as big a plot point in act 3 but I think its less because it just dropped off but more because it was resolved albeit in a much more subtle than expected way But thats just my random thoughts on it all. I really enjoy videos like this and find them refreshing going over a more analytical look into the game(s) and I'm looking forward to watching the others I see (still have to play arise and actually beat Zesty) but I find it really fun to see someone else who doesn't really repeat the popular critiques of the story/characters Vesperia is one of my favorites in the series along with Symphonia (Symphonia beats it out just a bit for story reasons ngl) so its fun seeing more content on the game Anyways just wanted to leave a comment cuz videos like this are awesome and underrated and im looking forward to watching more

A fantastic analysis on Tales of Arise is by youtuber DreamlordofGaming, with his video titled "Tales of Arise Critique - When a Great Story Fails" since he analyzes the story to the most minute detail, and I agree with MANY of his criticisms of it. To be clear, Tales of games were NEVER primarily known for it's plot ( Personally, If I was to rate JRPGs in terms of plot, I don't think I'd put any on the ones I'd played in my top ten) , but what Tales IS known for is it's action combat, and character interactions (enhanced by it's skits, though honestly fun banter can only get you so far). That said, Arise's story was particularly stupid IMO. DreamlordofGaming analysis here for anyone that's curious: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4iWoq2Vmtp6ldk

Why would you recommend an anti-Arise video to someone who enjoyed the game's story? They're not gonna bother watching it. No one asked for a "Tales of Arise's story sucks" video here.

@@Anonymous-i5r8gso that you're able to see both sides if you're curious about what people with opposite opinions think? It doesn't even sound like an "anti" video based off of what the comment you replied to described it as.

@@Gxmwp Who here is looking for an opinion that is the very opposite of Elixir Vitae's? If anyone wants to share a "Tales of Arise sucks" video, then the comments section of an "I like Tales of Arise" video is not the place for it. And I took a peak at that anti-Arise video, and it's the same recycled complaints brought up by the game's haters: whining over the game's characters, narrative themes, and dlc.

His morals are uncompromising and it's what I love about him. I don't see his actions as unjust, especially when he goes to great lengths to correct a problem but realizes the world doesn't need someone like him in the long run, propping up Flynn as the actual hero from his position in the shadows. He's so committed to his sense of justice and self he only needs to follow through and let the results be attributed to more virtuous people. Yuri is a masterclass into how to write an anti hero..

Youre talking about game mechanics when the problem is the writing. All that stuff could be changed, the devs pulled a bait and switch by showing her off on all the promotional material but kicking her out of the story in such an abrupt way

Yuri lives his life on his own terms. He is someone who views rules as obstacles and evaluates if they are worthy of respect or not. But at the same time, he's not just some heartless and bitter person. He has a strong sense of honor, walks his own path and is set in his ways. I also think he just gets a lot of respect for ending Ragou and Cumore. I loved it, finally a game where the protagonist isn't too much of a pacifist to do what needs to be done but isn't a uchiha level edgelord obsessed with revenge. He just has that calm energy. Like he is ready for anything. It's very cool.

The most appealing characteristic about Yuri is he feels the weight of his actions. When he does commit murder, it's not glorified, there is no epic battle. These corrupt government officials beg for their lives, beg for mercy, in their end, they don't even die regretting their horrible actions. It's... just empty in feeling. The Don died honorably, but their deaths was pathetic. It's shows that Yuri feels that burden, after he murders, his behavior is detached for a bit, lonesome, he's clearly not thrilled when cutting down a truly terrible person that ruined countless lives; It's the opposite of what you'd expect of someone achieving their goal, Yuri feels angry. It speaks volumes on his ethics as a personality. It's why Yuri doesn't challenge Flynns resolve as being wrongful, he even likes Flynns resolve. The only argument Yuri can make against Flynns resolve is that it's not fast enough. I enjoy the fact it was no celebration or glory. In modern blockbuster movies (*cough* like Star Wars *cough*) killing the bad guys is a woo and cheer moment, like a video game you kill the other player and start doing a Fortnite dance for the funnies. This makes story writers fail to understand the woo and cheer story writers witness from audiences, the audience isn't expressing their morals, they're expressing the entertainment. When I saw a moment like that in theaters it came off as distasteful, awkward. These faceless and disposable "bad guys" in the stories are sometimes victims themselves, doing what they can to survive or naively view the world wrongly. Can you imagine watching your friend in battle get blown up to pieces, and your enemy just start cheering with excitement. How is the audience suppose to relate to the cheering heroes? Yeah, it's clear who is the crazy bad guys are. It's the guys that are killing people and gets happy about. The irony in a fantasy magic world, a person is more realistic than some realistic portraying modern entertainment.
