I know this vid is old, but do you know what brand and color the wall paint was??
@FunctionDictatesForm Жыл бұрын
Looks like I did Stone Isle HGSW1496. I think that was slightly to dark, but not really noticeable. I have a saved pic of that color card only, but definitely take a piece of paint to Lowes or Home Depot to color match with sample cards. The wall paint fades over time.
@SingSongSavy Жыл бұрын
@@FunctionDictatesForm Thanks so much! I took a piece to Lowe’s but their color machine was down, and the lights in the paint section are horrible for matching 💀 thanks again!

Would you say Plunkett or Dowell has better dorms?
@FunctionDictatesForm3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I prefer Plunkett because it has showers per suite. Both dorms are kinda 💩 considering the price and quality, but that'll encourage you to go study, eat, and interact with more people outside your room. Ultimately, I'd choose Plunk City again if I had to, but don't worry too much if you can't get the one you want.

Plunkett Hall is one of the most unpleasant dorms you'll come across and this is because the rooms are so cramped and the shower floor looks so nasty. If you are stuck to this residence hall, then it might be better to cancel housing application to live off campus. Otherwise, Mercer is great in academics and that's what matters most
@FunctionDictatesForm3 жыл бұрын
I agree. Freshman year me was so optimistic lol. Plunkett has community, but nothing else. Also overpriced. And thanks for watching Will :)
@chrishawnchappelle10533 жыл бұрын
I'm going into Plunkett this year as an incoming freshman and from what I've seen you're right, it's not the best place to be in but I think as long as it's well kept it is sustainable. It's not a first choice for sure but we can't cancel housing as we are required to live on campus so for some ppl it's the only option. There are some ways to make the living arrangements better I think ppl just gotta find what works best for them :)
@GSU_Panther_Nation3 жыл бұрын
@@chrishawnchappelle1053 but I don't get why incoming freshman can't live off campus because some colleges like the University of Kentucky doesn't have this requirement
@FunctionDictatesForm3 жыл бұрын
Mercer thinks its best for freshman students to be right on campus so you get more of a sense of community and there's probably some statistic that says it leads to better retention rates. But I definitely think Mercer wanting money is definitely part of it for Sophomores and Juniors. Especially since they don't pay property tax as a non-profit and they're prices are pretty high compared to off campus living around Mercer.

Wow...Great post...blast from my past! Back in the day (early 80's) your Plunkett Hall was called New Woman's Dormitory and it still looks basically the same except for nicer rooms and laundry facilities. My girlfriend lived on the first floor. I think you walked past her room in your video: after entering the lobby you turned right, made a left and her room was the first door on the left, one of the only "suites." She had two roommates in the outer room which also had a little kitchenette. My girlfriend, being an upper classman, had the separate private room with bathroom. I used to sneak in before 6pm on weekend nights before the front desk student "guards" came on duty. Her roommates didn't seem to care that I was there except when they had to enter my girlfriend's room to use the toilet. After 8am the following morning we would casually stroll out of New Woman's, grinning slyly because we again succeeded in breaking university rules. Are female students still obligated to yell out, "man on the hall" when escorting their male friend down the female-only dorm corridor? That was a major thing back in the 80s.

Which is the nicest dorm with the cleanest bathrooms for first years
@FunctionDictatesForm5 жыл бұрын
I'd say Legacy. It's definitely the nicest first-year dorm, and the bathrooms are pretty clean. But if you want full control over how clean your bathroom is Plunkett gives you your own bathroom between 4 people that you are responsible for cleaning. But Plunkett isn't as nice a dorm as Legacy overall.
@Nicoleandstuff5 жыл бұрын
Definitely legacy. It’s the newest. But they are all pretty clean. I like legacy. The only reason why I don’t like it is because they don’t have hard doors in the bathrooms for showers. That’s why I like Boone.

@FunctionDictatesForm5 жыл бұрын
Yes. The only lights are in the kitchen, right in front of the apartment door, and one in the TV room (and it's not that bright). There's also no light above the dining room part with the table, so I definitely recommend at least one lamp for that area

Do people ride cruisers/longboards around campus?
@FunctionDictatesForm6 жыл бұрын
There's lots of people who skate on campus. There's at least 10 different people who ride longboards or skateboards around campus. There's also a few bikers, and there's even an on campus bike rental system if you want to rent a bike instead of bringing your own. I've also seen some people ride different things from scooters to inline skates. If you ever see someone on campus on skates, there's a 95% chance it's me.
