Yes you should be excited for what you are doing and have that vision but that doesnt mean you wont burn out....on one level or another. 😂 Like if I'm working 40hrs for a side project I enjoy, I can still tell when im burned out/ pushing myself to do it vs coming back in a couple days fresh after taking a break. Things take 2x less work and it feels easier. Consistency is important but you have to be at a good level of sustainability too.

@@N3WH0R1Z0NS I think we’re alluding to the same thing. For example - what makes you “excited” for that side project? Chances are it’s because you imagined a greater impact of it other than yourself (ie. I’ll make money)

A lot of these tactics are actually about leveraging the other persons politeness and discomfort with disappointing others. The person in this context simply doesn’t want to be rude and imply you’re bad at your job. It has nothing to do with whether or not they need to benefit from the product you’re selling. If the metric for success at your job is using manipulation and power posturing to guilt people into buying shit they don’t need maybe you should reconsider your career

All high pressure sales tactics, when you really boil them down to basics, are all about manipulating another persons desire to not be rude. They make you drink a lot of coolaid in that industry to hype you up and make you forget this fact. I'm sure you're familiar with all the narratives about limitless personal and financial success if you're a try hard self starter quick learner go getter. At the end of the day the point of your job is to convince people to buy a product they don't need. I cannot describe how much happier I became once I left sales.
