I have been WAITING! for this! As soon as I learned you were going to attempt The Hobbit, I've been waiting for this! I saw Unexpected Journey in the theater. At the first note of "Misty Mountains Cold", you could hear half the theater humming, then breaking into song (we all watched the trailers enough times to know the tune) - absolute chills! M&M, you picked the starting lineup of KZbinrs for this mashup - well done to everyone! (EDIT: at 4:17 I punched the air...) And now, on to Desolation of Smaug!

Ian Holm was dealing with fucking Parkinson's when he filmed his scenes. And he wasn't even sure it would allow him to do it. But it did, and by God... he NAILED that shit. On another note, here's only one thing I don't love about this trilogy but that starts next movie.

Fun fact: Tolkien took tons of names (specifically the dwarves' names in The Hobbit) from the Poetic Edda. One of the names, Gandalf, literally means "wand elf". So Gandalf is literally a gand (wand) alf (elf).

He knew more than any a bout all the rings in middle earth. So yes he'd have a book with illustrations and written info about almost every ring he's ever seen or heard about.

I have such mixed feelings about this trilogy, but I'm still really looking forward to your mashup. Watching these reactors enjoy this for the first time brings me back to when I saw them initially, and brings back a lot of the wonder and joy I felt. They may not be the best movies out there, and, frankly, compared to the masterpieces that were the LotR trilogy, they dont stack up, but they're still good, and collectively, the six of them are still the best version of Tolkien that's ever (and probably WILL ever) been put to celluloid. Would love to see some reactors give some love to the Rankin Bass versions, and would love to see you apply your genius editing to same.

Oh don't worry. I love this trilogy but I am gonna make fun of them as well with these edits😄 and I'd say only one movie is good that is unexpected journey. That's because upon further thought about this trilogy, there are big problems with it that damages itself and Lord of the Rings trilogy. If you are curious go seek out Random film talk analysiscof the hobbit films. They go into great depth of what worked and what didnt. 👍👍 However it could've definitely been worse and again I love this trilogy so much and I still hold it to high regards to a degree. And yea I grew up with the Rankin Bass versions as well. It would be neat to see people react to those, though idk if I wanted to do reaction mashups to those just because I want to do other projects. But I'm so excited for these edits of the hobbit to come out for you all to see😄😄
