Unfortunately 0.5 is not enough depth to produce collagen because it is not going to the layer of skin it should be you need to use 1.00 mm everyone is talking about it here there is alot if video about it

@@BanishTV Hello, do you recommend using vitamin C after micro needling?
@louise_85462 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why you can't do 1.5mm (which is recommended for scarring) at home, as many on EDS (the skincare forum I haunted for a few years some time ago!) were doing this, and there were a variety of ages and skin concerns on there. The Dermastamp is better than the roller, anyway, especially for beginners, as it's less likely you will tear the skin. I realise you have been using 0.5mm needle length but microneedling 1-2 times a week or every week or two seems excessive...? It's generally recommended to do it every 6 weeks or so, to give your skin time to heal and replenish. You look great, btw and I absolutely know the pain and stress of acne and what a number it does on your self esteem!
@lavienestpasunlongfleuvetr25592 ай бұрын
If your skin is acneic, most dermotogists would tell you to stay away from vitamin c until you get your acne under control and build up your skin barrier, because vitamin c is just too irritating for most skin that's prone to acne. Niacinamide and azelaic acid would probably be MUCH better for your skin. I get that you may have FOMO from watching other people use vitamin c, but honestly, you would be much better off just respecting your skin by not trying to force products on it that it doesn't appreciate!

Very sorry to hear that you are back on Roaccutane. As young person I got Acne in my face and shoulder which was treated with Tetracecline-Wolf (antibiotic). Acne was gone but a few month later I got perforating folliculitis as a result of antibiotic therapie. My new doctor started a Roaccutane therapie. He asked me to reduce sugar and fatty food. For support I had to use medical skin care products. After five months he stopped the therapie because there were no new outbreaks. After a year the skin went back from a red to a normal skin tone. After 10 years now no new outbreak. From time to time just a spot but that's normal.

I researched that 1mm or even 1.5 mm is the depth you need for healing scar tissue. They sell adjustable derma stamps. The professionals of course will say its only safe if you pay them a bunch of money to do it for you but they are only going to do they same thing as you at home. The only difference would be numbing cream and new needles every treatment. It would be much cheaper to buy a new stamp every round than to pay the pros and get the same results
@louise_85462 ай бұрын
Yeah, I haven't microneedled for a while but the narrative seems to have completely changed over the years. So many on skincare forums were happily using 1.5mm rollers (though, stamps are better as they don't drag the skin and are less painful) but many aestheticians are warning against people doing longer than eg, 0.25mm or so at home....Why? If you research carefully and take your time, why not? It's because they want your business and they try to scare people. Also, being used as a hair growth tool is a new one on me - surely I should look like a sasquatch by now XD

You can do 1mm needling on your cheeks at home every 4-6 weeks. The 0.5mm you are currently doing on your forehead is deep enough for that area every 4-6 weeks, Any deeper than 1mm on the face should be done by a professional.

Hey girl aesthetician here. You wanna approach retinol reallyyy slowly. Start with the lowest percentage and use it only once a week then move up to twice a week then 3 times a week. 3 times a week should be the max never use retinol more than 3 times a week. stay on that percentage for about two months then go higher. Keep increasing percentage that way. I would advise the highest you should go would be 1% but of course you can experiment beyond that. Just be careful because as much as retinol is amazing for your skin It can be really damaging if misused. Goodluck! :)

@@siiyuo1122 yes! Whenever you want to do a chemical peel, just take a week break from retinol then a few days after the peel you can continue. Thats If it’s a light peel. If it’s a medium peel which you wouldn’t be doing yourself anyways you would be going to a specialist for that then you would need three weeks off retinol :)

I also bought retinol in squalane, i dis research beforehand, youre supposed to start with the lowest concentration and "work your way up" basically. You bought the highest concentration so im not surprised your skin was unhappy after using it daily. As far as i remember the lowest concentration in squalane was 0.2%, I'm currently using 5%. Maybe when repurchasing get a lower concentration if you notice its too strong for you :)
@BriannaJane7 ай бұрын
Thank you, definitely the right advice to share! However, I’d already been a retinol user before trying this so 1% was perfect for someone like me. Also, I only used 1-2 times per week not every day 😃 I’d love to hear how you’re finding the 5% strength
@chaeguevara7 ай бұрын
No matter how long you’ve been using retinol, 5% is diabolical! You may think it’s fine because your skin is not reacting to it but the long-term effects aren’t good. I doubt whatever retinol you’re using actually has 5% in there. It might just be on the label but I highly doubt that’s the actual percentage in the product. Can’t imagine anyone using 5% retinol with no reactions. I’m an aesthetician.
