I have always considered this as one of Randy's best songs. The energy he plays on the song is terrific. The fills, the rhythm, the lead are all masterful. The lesson is great. For me I just try to emulate the feeling of the song without worrying about hitting every note he did on the recording (try being the key word...I can't do it yet). It's great to see such a good lesson on this masterpiece. Learned some new fingerings....

Straight up fucking love this lesson, especially with the tabs you get everything from the tone down to the fills in between riffs and notes perfectly explained. The Sandoval V is gorgeous as well I can’t wait to hear more. Next songs by Randy I want to learn are Looking at You Looking at me and Little Dolls. Both are amazing and I know for sure I’d be able to get those riffs down with you teaching man awesome work brotha🤘

Yes, boost pedal is a game changer for metal with lower gain setting to remove fizz on top. Any chinese boost pedal with a noise gate if you can is amazing.

Or, in the intro, just keep a traditional D shape with the open high E. Then right to the open E power chord with the index finger barring the E and A. Much more natural, and most likely the way Eddie played it. I’ve never seen him do a two finger open D chord using the middle and ring finger. That’s a little clunky. But cool details. Enough to really help someone get started with the song.

Nice ax …. Good video , I just glance for now and over weekend I’ll watch it with guitar in hand. I have a 9yr old Squire strat. I tend to stay on the neck pickup more than other pickups . I’ll visit the other 2 pickups but then the neck pickup is where it’s at for me normally. I can see why Jimi Hendrix loved it as well.

People should be better at legato anyway. Think of it as an exercise instead of some sort of unholy blasphemy of a lesson. Guys. Get a freaking grip.
