Hi there! I was wondering if there was any way you could go a little In Depth into set up? That’s the part I’m the most nervous about in terms of shows. In addition to the logistics. Any info would be really helpful, thanks!!

Happy Sunday Amber, I have a question about Postmark and apologize in advance if this isn't the correct place to ask. When I go to share my closet and click Select All, it will only allow me to share the last 20 items listed. To share my entire closet, I have to go down to the bottom and select each item. Do you know if there's a way to fix this? I contacted Postmark and after a week they said they would have to pass it off to an expert to help! thx, Jane

How does thredup handle defective items? Do they send them back to you or just not give you credit?
@RenewingAmberКүн бұрын
They either list it or you can pay to get them sent back to you! I usually only send them things I personally was going to donate and not list so it’s okay if they don’t accept them

Hi Amber, the same thing happened to me! I was trying to get more inventory and I got on a hamster wheel of spending and got into major credit card debt, all in hopes of having good items to sell to my customers. I spent a lot on Whatnot too! I was giving away a lot of items in hopes of building my clients up, only to still have a max of 20 people in a show after a year of live shows. I quickly learned that I could never start shows at $3, 5, 7 etc because my cost of goods was more including fees and taxes. I was depressed and cried many times after a bad show, and was elated when I had a good show. This was my only job. I started Ubering to make extra cash. I don’t think it’s all bad choices, but the economy and other outside factors to reselling. I hope you find your way and much success in whatever you do! I continue to do shows, but on my terms and I list a lot on Poshmark @grnpineapple. We’ll see what happens in reselling this next year. Thank you for sharing and I was encouraged that I’m not alone on this reselling journey! I,m sending blessings your way! Deena

Hi Amber, what is it like sending items to thread up? Do they tell you how much you get per item or just one amount for everything you send? Love your videos 💗💗
@RenewingAmber3 күн бұрын
So it’s better if you send them higher end items because you get a lot more back but you can get some minuscule payouts from everyday brands. I don’t get a huge amount but it does add up instead of donation. Usually average is a couple dollars an item! They have a payment estimator in their site!!

Sounds like you're doing pretty good for a side hustle. Hope it didn't decrease too much during October. Having reselling as a side hustle, instead of a full-time job, really does seem healthier and more stable though, so I always advocate for people to not rely on it and so I'm glad you have a new FT job and I hope that's going well and bringing you some balance. One note about the what sold videos. Would it be possible to mention the number of sales in your daily summaries, like when you say the net and gross, then to also mention how many items also.

It’s really hard doing it all yourself. I had a full meltdown last December and I was unable to do live shows or even list for months. For the past few months I’ve been trying to claw my way back up after losing all the momentum I built up on Whatnot and it feels like starting over. I have no clue what the future holds but I just have to be gentle with myself and realize that I’m doing my best and that it’s going to take time again. Also, realizing that there is no one solution and diversifying how and what I source and how and what I sell will not enslave me to a very narrow way of running my business.

I don't know what to do to increase sales. I've been selling since September 2nd. So far I've only sold 15 items. I keep sharing my closet all day long and keep lowering my prices and still go days and days without selling 😢
@RenewingAmber8 күн бұрын
So unfortunately with reselling sales doesn’t happen overnight :( most items sit for an average 90 days. Some a lot longer some less but I wouldn’t keep lowering your prices. I would just keep listing new items if you have them and eventually you will build up to a point where you get daily sales :)
@evelynmaltez5717 күн бұрын
@@RenewingAmber thank you for the advice. 😊 I will stop lowering my prices.
@pnw-coast7 күн бұрын
@@evelynmaltez571 Amber's correct that just lowering your prices over and over is not going to make sales happen. No matter what your price, if it's an item that someone doesn't want then it's not going to sell. Of course, your prices shouldn't be much higher than other sellers that are selling the same item. Besides your prices, make sure your photos are good and your titles are descriptive. The general rule I've heard is that a healthy store sells 1% of inventory every day.
@evelynmaltez5716 күн бұрын
@@pnw-coast I have a lot of items that other people have for a lot more money. I think I rushed too soon to lowering my prices. After I read your reply yesterday I went ahead and increased my prices to what I had them at the beginning. Your message helped me a lot. I sold 17 items in a month and a half. I guess it's no too bad. I will keep listing more items and wait like you suggested. I'll just lower them a bit on closet clear out. I just sold a beautiful denim jacket that everyone has for $55 to $85 mine was $35 after lowering it so much and sold for $28. I payed $12. I regret doing that. Thank you again for taking the time to answer me. All the best to you! ☺️

@@evelynmaltez571 Check out the concept of 'perceived value'. Sometimes, if something is priced too low, then people think there's something wrong with it and so they won't want it. It can be pretty interesting to see how psychology plays a role in shopper behavior.
