Die deutsche Bahn würde sich sehr über dein Kompliment freuen. Deutsche lieben es alles zu kritisieren, so auch die Bahn. If they were to live in another country outside the EU for a longer period of time, they would know how good Deutsche Bahn is.

Hello. Deutsche Bahn is efficient? I'll call the management at Deutsche Bahn, they won't believe it themselves. 😊. There haven't been real German winters for a long time. Depending on where you live. You don't earn anything with the Pfand. It's just to keep trash down in public. The emergency lane is required by law, but the penalties are too low And I wouldn't say German drivers are better. I have now driven over 1 million km in my life and can give a verdict. There are strict rules when it comes to raw meat. Fresh minced meat/Hackfleisch may then only be sold on the day of production. Pregnant women have special rights. You can't fire them. § 17 des Mutterschutzgesetzes. Within the Schengen area in the EU, you do not need a passport. On the subject of visas. Just get married sometime. There are almost only advantages/benefit. Less dangerous animals in Germany.

All great points! I'm sure the longer I live here the more I'll find these things out. Very interesting about the pregnant women!

"Free the Pee!" -> "Pay the Janitor" ;-) the eternal dilemma of "the common good" - if it's free, it has no value (i.e. price tag) associated to it, so people misuse or overdo it. In Russia, toilets are free - yet I doubt you'd volunteer to use 'em. The same applies to water: putting a price tag on it makes people value water and not use it in excess because "it's for free ..." - it's drinkable water quality, it needed purification, so it's fair to pay for it. Just not excessively - an 'effective' sum, more than symbolic and less than noticeable.
@Coralie_Anne4 күн бұрын
That’s makes perfect sense, and I agree when you put it that way. It’s different in Australia where the people who clean toilets etc are paid by the council, so toilets can be free that way

What we did with Dickmanns when we were young: A Dickmanns on a sliced roll and then crushed in between. Secondly, put a Dickmanns in the microwave for a few seconds and then immediately eaten warm. Nougat has a lot more hazelnuts than Nutella and is also much more concentrated.

"Flocken" means flakes. So the "Knusper Flocken" translate to crunchy flakes. The crunchy part ist made out of "Knäckebrot" wich is a very hard bread.

Any chocolate ahs to be better than American chocolate 😂 I remember having Milka chocolate here for a bit many years ago. Ive heard German pastries are spose to be the best so as a Kitchener Bun fan 9ironic history there), would be interesting to see what they are like. We knew some German migrants here that made the best waffles i've ever had! Also a video idea - How german like is Handorf actually!?

My personal advice for the Milka chocolate bars: Put them into the refrigerator for at least 1 day. Then they not only taste better, but you don't have much problems with crumbles
@Coralie_Anne11 күн бұрын
Oh interesting, I'll be sure to give that a try!
@jackscheppert12 күн бұрын
Nougat is basically cocoa paste, hazelnut paste and sugar. Marzipan is almond paste and sugar. When it comes to those, we really crank it up with the sweetness. But I've also come to like the Halloren fudge. They invented that stuff way back in the GDR as a cheap replacement, due to lack of resources, and it's still holding up after 35 years of capitalism

I think for people that learn German as a foreign language, the articles are the worst part, as there really is no rule when to use which. You really have to remember the correct article for each word. There are even words where us German native speakers argue which article is correct.

Welcome to Germany. I experienced this with a New Zealander who worked with us on a work visa. We persuaded him to pursue an IT apprenticeship at the age of 30. For his residence permit, he needed the apprenticeship contract, proof of a bank balance of 9000 euros, as apprenticeship salaries are not very high (usually apprenticeships in Germany start at the age of 15, and typically one still lives at home), and he needed at least a B1/B2 level in the German language. He now works for an international company. Moreover, he even shortened his apprenticeship by a year. A German colleague of mine pursued a second apprenticeship at the age of 33, just like me. This is not unusual here in Germany, especially considering that many professions didn't exist before, especially in IT.
@Coralie_Anne15 күн бұрын
That's amazing!! My German partner is currently doing an apprenticeship so I know all about the poor pay (not so good when you are doing it when you're older, but worth it in the long run)
@stailbail660915 күн бұрын
@@Coralie_Anne I wouldn't call it poor pay. The company invests tens of thousands of euros in the trainee during the training period (school, chamber, guild, courses, etc.), and if the money is not enough, there is still child allowance, which is paid until after the first apprenticeship or degree until the age of 27. In addition, vocational training allowance can be applied for, and every citizen can apply for housing benefit. So, no one is going to starve, and one should be grateful that companies invest thousands of euros in their own training.
