Coming along nice Jas. Met you at AFD in Eastern Creek a few years ago when mate his Silver XB Hardtop there. It has had some changes & repaint since. There is a big Carshow at Jamberoo on Sunday. We are taking Henry down hope ya can make it.

I remember you clearly. Was going to hit you up about that 351 decal the silver xb has. I haven't been to a AFD since. I want to go again soon but which car do I take lol, escort, and or xb haha. I not doing much atm, battling a virus. Will see you at the next AFD hopefully 😎

Had a bit of a bingle going down to the HTA at Mildura a few years ago. Reversed into concrete block at Petrol Station. Did a bit of damage to rear end. Because of the Metal Flake in paint was going to be to hard to match/blend in. So is just a Custom Silver now. Debadged. Removed scoops from Quater panels. No GS stripes or blackout on bonnet. Grille is Silver with Black mesh inserts. No Black on tail light panel. All Silver now. Looks like a sleek Silver Bullet.

Damn! That would've upset him. That custom flake paint was very nice. I regularly look at that car in my coupe collection pics. Keen to see it again sometime.I'll probably have a small new school stereo with reverse sensors, camera.

Coming along nicely mate. I’d be interested to see how that fuel injection goes as I’m in the process of doing the same and was thinking of fitting a Holley sniper unit. Looking forward to the next update

Yeah the injection is going to be a fun project, will let you know how it goes! It's way cheaper than holley. The master kit is like $2,370 all up than aus customs stepped me with $460 tax.

To adjust the bonnet height in front of the screen you need to loosen the hinge nuts on the inner guard then push the bonnet up a touch then tighten the inner guard nuts before lowering the bonnet , you will find that the higher you push the bonnet up the lower it will sit when you lower it and you will soon know if you have gone too far

Awesome Jase. I just bought a 1970 XW wagon 3.6 200 engine. Got it cheap. Bit of dancer in the Tail gate but overall a great find. I got a black block 351 4 speed TL and a XR turbo Ute diff so could add it the the project.

@jason35177 yes my uncle had one for years his was done up lowered tinted windows GT bonnet. Had 700hp. Looked tuff as.

When I was about 14/5, a mate's big brother had an xa with a 351, twin 4 barrel holleys and a tunnel ram. He only drove it at night because at night, it wasn't as easy to see from distance, meaning he had a good chance of not being chased by the cops. This was pre mad Max, too. He also had a typical 70s custom panel van with a hot 308 and a go-kart steering wheel.

Top loader 💪💪💪 But all the highways up your way and with 3:55 rear, a world class T5 from an 6cyl EB- EL would be the go. can't lean on it as hard like a top loader though. EFI 👌 cold start spluttering will be a thing of the past. that aces master kit looks great for the price, had I known I would have got that instead of Sniper and Ice ign.

What did you seal the diff cover with. I just replaced mine with a paper gasket and it leaked straightaway and so I'm going to just use black RTV this weekend. I'm not going to use the paper gasket again. Do you think it'll be ok? Also are you running power steering? I'm going to try to find where to bolt the three clips to locate the lines. Apparently near our on the engine mounts??

I just use black RTV, no gasket on all my cars, I learned my lesson in the past hehe. I'm not running power steering at this stage

I base that on the amount of views, likes I get on escort videos. But when I drive the escort around it gets a lot of attention. The falcon xb gets way more attention

Ive had an XC 351 with a factory single rail 4 speed and it was fine. You do know that the gear ratios in 351's were different to the 302 and the 6 cylinders at least in the XC

Hi Jas,, DOOR GLASS Its toughfened so the scratches cannot be polished or buffed out. The scrathes come about due to 50 years of dust getting on the outter door wether strip the old hard one you removed keep those clean and your new glass will be fine, The door handles re after market are all the same crap fitting and that outter weather seal is pathetic I'm surprised you did t get new door latches to go with the handles etc Oh and new door locks yes more cost but looks better ,

Did you buy the single rail from Sale. I got the shift kit from him for my single rail behind my 351. I've had the box in it since 1988... It won't break unless you try to break it. Do you have an email address so I can send you a video of my shift kit.

Back in the day I was doing burnouts alot in my xc van with mild 351 and a single rail. I did break one gearbox after I broke at least 2 Borg warner diffs with it. In the end I ran the single rail with a 9 inch and never broke it again. The plastic nut used to let go and the lever would come off in your hand, once you sort that its all good.

The fella who sold me the gearbox also supplies upgraded shifters. Thats good news then, 351 will give and gearbox a hard time 😎

@@jason35177 I remember now I broke the gearbox in first gear out the front of the workshop I worked at. I tried to break traction in first, low speed, no clutch but the engine was a bit cold and hesitated then I hit it again and there was a severe driveline backlash which broke one end of the lay shaft. I repaired the box, probebly using parts of another used one to repair it. I did get a toploader and gathered all the needed parts but the single rail didn't fail again. I was running 3.25 gears and usually second hand 195 to 225 /14 tyres though. Cheers.
