I adopted a Russian Blue 3 year old 3 weeks ago. I returned most things that she could care less about. Cat tree. I really thought she’d like to perch on this and look out my slider at the birds. Nope … I’ll be donating it to the shelter. Brush- she does NOT want to be brushed anywhere on her little body. Cat treat… I tried a few kinds, even the lickables that others go nuts over…nope, she’ll have none of that. Cat fountain. Won’t go near it. I even tried putting catnip around it. Cat tunnel, cat bed, warming mat. Nope! She prefers my chair or the hard floor, sometimes the foot of my bed. Her favorite thing? A shoelace. She’ll spend hours amusing herself with it. She also occasionally will fight with the automated fish that flops if she touches it. She DOES use her scratching post often…thankfully.

I have good news for you. You are wrong. Russian Blue cats do not have a short lifespan at all. They have one of the longest lifespans of all cats! The average lifespan of a Russian Blue cat is 15-20 years, but they can live much longer, sometimes over 25 years.

@ I have one too. He’s called Silver (see my surname) and is 3 months old! Super affectionate and playful from day 1 and he was not scared at all of my 2 dogs and 2 other cats (Ragdoll and Maine Coon). Hope your cat lives a long and happy life! If you go by the internet, Russian Blues are supposed to be a bit reserved and attach to people that they know rather than strangers. This little fella was licking inside my ears and playing with my other cats in a new home after 30 minutes. He’s very outgoing with anyone. Cat personalities are as varied as human ones! Don’t judge a cat by its cover 😆

When Kotetsu was a kitten, he was relatively quiet and didn't play many mischief.🐈 He doesn't ask for human food even if he goes to the dining table, and he doesn't dig through the garbage can. Ha-ha-ha I also love Scottish Folds, they are so cute.😻

Kotetsu's food is for lower urinary tract care, and Tama's is for kittens up to 1 y.o. Both are made by Nestle Japan.🐈
