Loupes can be a game changer but sometimes you can get so dependent on them. I try to keep them in the tool box and only use them when I absolutely need them.

This patient had this crown for over 15 years. Decay like this can grown slowly over time.

This is a real thing. Dental Fear is so common. If I was to see 10 patients in a day at least 4 or 5 will show some symptoms of dental phobia. 😮

This is just something I accept. We all are guilty of this. We know what we need to do but we choose to do something else. 😅

This makes me laugh so hard. 😂 TBH. It feels like this sometimes. Patients will tell you anything when they are in the dental chair.

It’s not likely that if you have this much build up on your teeth you are flossing everyday. As a dentist you are trained to know what to look for even if it’s just a little bit. 😂

If your tooth looks like this. I know you are hurting. 😬
@KenthedentistАй бұрын
This is a cracked tooth sometimes patients think the filling has come out but really the tooth is broken. 😢
@KenthedentistАй бұрын
This is a common question I get all the time. If the dental filling falls out. It’s likely that you have decay under the filling or you could have bit down and fracture the tooth. Either way you need to see about possibly getting a dental exam with some X rays then the doctor can determine how bad it is. 😀

If you notice that your teeth move around it may be a good idea to go get it checked out. 😅

Do you see how the teeth move as the cleaning is going on. This is called periodontal disease. Teeth are NOT supposed to move like these. 😮

Every body wants implants. But the dental commercials will have you thinking the implant process is easy. In some cases it can be straightforward but there are a lot of things to consider.

Discussion of patient expectations is important. As you can see, there is no more tooth to add a filling. The only treatment here is to remove the tooth and discuss with patient potential tooth replacement options.

What bothers you the most about going to the dentist? 1. Pain 2. Fear of having to get work done 3. Smell 4. Cost 5. All the above 😂

Patients don’t know who to trust. Especially when they have had a bad experience. I make it a point to ask questions to get perspective but also to help patients move past their fear. It’s a process but when done it can make a difference. 🚀

How much bleeding is too much? Typically after an extraction bleeding may continue for a few hours but it should slow down. If you are taking blood thinners bleeding can continue for longer periods of time. It’s really a case by case but if something seems off it’s better to be safe. Go seek out help.

What you are seeing is soft plaque that can build on teeth of you don’t brush your teeth. This build up is probably from weeks of not brushing and flossing. 😅

It’s highly likely this patient has periodontal disease. If not treated it can lead to bone loss and eventually root decay and loss of teeth. He can sing though. 🤷🏽♂️

Absurd to not offer actual pain relief after ripping a part from someone’s anatomy. This is out of hand, narcotics aren’t the enemy here it’s the government making Dr’s afraid to prescribe medication.
@Kenthedentist2 ай бұрын
I think narcotic pain medication should be given pending the treatment. So if I extract a patient’s tooth and it’s difficult of extraction or the patient has a low pain threshold that information will help me determine if and what type of medication I prescribe. Pain is subjective and I can’t say if a patient is in pain or not. But having a conversation with the patient often helps me to make that determination if I give narcotics and how much I prescribe. Hope your personal experience improves. Thanks for the comment. ✅

Swelling can be a scary thing. Especially after a difficult extraction. I’ve died help with the swelling. It constricts the blood vessels in that area therefore slowly down the bodies mediators to the site. Sounds like a simple thing but it is helpful.

Check with your provider because taking some pain medication drugs may do more harm than good. 😅

I think management and of pain after an extraction is probably one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Get something on board before the numbness wears off.

I think a loaf of bread is 5 dollars almost pending where you shop. If you think about an implant or a crown you use several times a day. I would say it’s worth it. Especially if you want it done right. It can be fast and cheap, or slow and right. It can be all of them. 🤷🏽♂️

It may be a good idea to share with the dentist what scares you the most. Often some of the thoughts or fears we have can be resolved by just talking it out. A good dentist should be able to give you an explanation or at least have a strategy to help relieve some of the anxiety. I hope every thing works out for you. 🙏🏾
