problem is not fully the truckers ,its the small cars that block the passing lane, causing trucks to reared other slow moving trucks, most truckers go slow down the grades but there is always a trucker going way to fast, putting everyone in harms way,

on that highway, there should be snow sheds that cover the entire roadway on portions that have steep grades. Ventilation would be done using long louvers on the sides that would allow air to go in and out, but would keep out the snow so the road is kept 100% dry at all times of the year.

BC is one Place I avoid between the End of Sept till about the middle of May. If I need to be in Van during that time, I will Fly.

As a Flagger for a Georgia paving company, we had to put effort into stopping cars. I had to literally almost jump out infront of cars to stop them to avoid a traffic accident. That’s the Flaggers fault 100% and he didn’t seem to care about his job very much

Just drove this last week! Even without snow, it's actually quite scary. It's downhill for so long that you easily pick up speed. If you're not paying attention you're suddenly going 130+ km/h downhill....can't imagine doing this in snow, in a semi! Hats off to you!!

I watch from time to time the rescue show from that area, the Tow truck drivers are always cleaning up a big mess. Truckers going to fast is always the cause.

Yeah, it's all overstated. I've driven this highway at least 30 times. Many of these trips were in two wheel drive Honda Civics etc. It's not nearly as bad as TV etc. make it out to be. The trick? winter tires and DRIVE FOR THE CONDITIONS. It's really that simple. The thing that makes this highway dangerous is other drivers.

This piece of the TC HWY is a joke...year after year truckers face immense issues trying to get down or up this deadly road portion. Even seasoned vets are using all they can to safely get through....Nothing is done that changes the surfaces that can lead to major crash concerns...A double truck convoy needs to be implemented with enough salt/gravel ahead of all vehicles to safely get traffic up or down

I was a rookie with my trainer headed W and coming up to a mountain. As we’re reaching the base of the mountain I see that it’s raining ( in the winter ), and I’m thinking aw hell! My trainer asked if I wanted him to drive. I said nope, cause he’s not always gonna be with me. ANYWAY the rain wasn’t rain. I thought it was rain cause it was so thick and kinda dark. The snow started to hit the windshield and it looked like baby snowballs!😳 As we started to go up the wind started to really pick up and I’m losing the freaking white line! For a second there it kinda threw me off. I told the drivers behind us that I was a rookie and if I was going too slow that they could go around. No one did except an RV who drove off to the median. I just got Baptized by the Mountain cause it was my first White Out! That wind blowing that snow really Hard was messing with my eyes. I can still feel it when I think about it.
