First heard this on my grandmother's "For a musical Merry Christmas" 1967 album offered by Goodyear and Columbia records, this song and every song on that old LP convey everything I felt about Christmas. Heard it more times than I can count, the music takes me right back to a child so excited about Christmas.

I think many of the those in the Columbus Boys Choir would have been near my age in 1964 so if they are still living they are in their 70s.

Do you remember the glasses you could buy with the album? We never had a full set because I would break half before the next year while singing and washing dishes. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Hey, is it me, or do these albums sound shrill, like they were loaded with the treble turned all the way up? Not to complain -- well, yeah, I am, but I am used to these beloved old albums with plenty of roomy resonance and bass. I think the speed is a fraction fast, too. I know, I know, I sound like Bah Humbug. Sorry. But Roberta Peters in Jesu Bambino did not sound like a soubrette the way she does here. . . .

The dignified and majestic sound of the Firestone Orchestra's brass section is prominently featured on this album.

Wonderful! Thanks for posting this!! Although my Dad bought many of these and the "Goodyear" Christmas albums at the local tire store, I don't think that I've heard this one. Growing up in the 60's and 70's my siblings and I listened to these beautiful albums. The musicians and arrangements on all of the albums which I have heard were all stellar!! Although there have been many talented composers and musicians since these albums were released, I believe that these albums "set the bar" very high. I appreciate how much they helped to nurture my musicianship and love of music as I grew up, and eventually became a school music teacher, pianist and church organist. ❤
