I assume that this is the same Dinty Moore who wrote "The Accidental Buddhist" (TAB). (Pretty safe assumption to make, given that Beef Stew doesn't pen too many books!) TAB is a modern-day classic! It is an excellent manual on integrating spirituality into everyday life. I read the book (quite a few times, actually) many years back, but its main themes have stayed with me. There is no one 'true' Buddhism; you can adapt the Buddha's timeless message to the requirements of your own time; spirituality is a journey, not a destination; most importantly, good humour is an aid to spiritual progress, not an obstacle. I hope I am able to read some of Mr. Moore's other works in the coming years. Thank you for this excellent interaction with him!!

Love watching how other teachers do things! Isn’t amazing how young children can be so independent? What are your favourite Montessori toys for this age group? It’s so nice to find fellow early childhood teacher utubers. Just found your channel- subscribed :)

Noticed this was posted in mid March (of 2012 of course) is this about the time of year you guys took this hike?
@KateySchultz
@KateySchultz 9 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. That was an unseasonably warm March, though the high winds my first night likely had the windchill down into the teens. This winter we've had snow and ice and I haven't been up top yet. North Carolina High Peaks Trail Association is a great resource and even has Mitchell webs cams now...

Katey Schultz awesome.....thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. There is so much information overload that it's hard to narrow down the good sources from all the watered down material out there!

I know this video is from last year but I have greatly enjoyed watching it, several times actually. I am planning on being Montessori teacher training in the fall and being able to see a glimpse into the beautiful inner workings of a primary classroom gives me great joy! Thank you, and you have a beautiful school.

Your trailer is much different than mine, but I like your kitchen cabinets better. I have the sliding tambour doors that are hard to open or worn out. You have a nice place! Is it parked permanently?

Yes, there's water starting at about mile 2 and it's off and on for the last mile to the saddle. That means if you're coming from Mitchell all you have to do is hike down the Colbert Creek trail for a little ways and you'll have water. It'll be brimming this time of year. Not sure about your second question - "on" from Deep Gap down into the valley, or "on" from Deep Gap toward Celo Knob on the Crest Trail?
@DebbiPrince
@DebbiPrince 5 жыл бұрын
No water from Deep Gap to Celo. You'll have to go down either Bolens Creek trail to the left before Celo or shoot down Woody Ridge Trail. Then it's a pretty good distance to water.
