We totally got such a good deal thank goodness. It is very exciting I still have to pinch myself 🥹 Neighbors keep to themselves but have been lovely it’s hard with the language barrier and can’t wait to speak the language better. But they’re so patient with us when we do communicate haha. Our favourite thing is that we installed our doorbell camera and the little kids come and ding ding ditch which is so cute we watch them egg each other on to do it and they have no idea that we see the whole interaction 🤣

Oh but it says it on the box of the one we bought 😂 but they could just do that for people like me that don’t know the name. What’s it meant to be called?

This is montefrio… it’s a smallish town Granada. We’ll have a video out all about montefrio soon enough ☺️ there are plenty of affordable houses here but this was one of a kind in terms of all the area, good bones and a garage.

@@underelspanishsun Moved here in 2016, way before the pandemic so I didnt get to experience aussie lockdowns and so far havent looked back. Yes there are some down sides but I am willing to put up with them for the convenience of travel here. Although my kids (early teens) constantly curse me for moving away from Sydney to a small village in Germany. If I could move anywhere again it definitely would be to the alps area in Austria or Northern Italy 😃

We would definitely say we agree that for a very long time we were known as the “Lucky Country” and we were… but unfortunately not anymore… but there’s also so many reasons we absolutely Spain and Spanish culture. It really does depend on perspective and taste ☺️

@underelspanishsun Tenerife one of the amazing Canary Islands, but I know the Mainland pretty well specially Andalucía as my mother was from Málaga. I visit at least twice a year.

Would love to hear more about your decision making in choosing Spain ( from other countries) and what preparations and research you undertook to prepare for your exciting life adventure. Do you speak Spanish ? How do you get around if your Spanish language Is challenging ? Particularly in a small pueblo. How have the local “ Montefrianos” welcomed you so far ? We also love Spain and have travelled there many times ( we were last there visiting a cousin who has moved to Leon - Spain- in Oct 24) and we have lived in Spain for a number of years and hope to return to live there very soon. Would also love to hear how you chose Montefrio more specifically or did Montefrio find you ???? Life has a habit of guiding our life journeys in ways that we are not able to fully comprehend .
