5:42 Anybody here play MLB 9 Innings? Maybe this is where the coder got the idea to have the C throw to 1B after a strikeout. Gonna look to see if this is only with right handed batters.

My son will be 7 and eligible to attend an evaluation for minors. He’s played two years t-ball and one year coach pitch. My understanding is he could do either or another year of coach or tryout for minors. I’ve coached him every year now and he’s done really well. I’m sure you get this question a lot but what’s the wise move here? What are the pros and cons? I think he’d benefit from the challenge.

Nice & succinct presentation - I was wondering if there’s any such thing for a 3rd batter or 4th & 5th making it more like to hit a double or triple. Please let me know

On a double play, does the defender with the ball just have to touch base before the runner to get the first out? Sometimes i see the defender catch the ball, step on the base, then step off to throw to the 2nd out, all in one motion. Just wanna know.

Hi there - yupp, you’re right! The defender just has to touch the base before the runner gets there 👍

And my goodness to ALL new youth coaches please remember to fill out YOUR roster lineup sheet and then write them down I order on the YELLOW paper located under the page and give it to the team you are playing against. I see this so often PLEASE make sure you do this it’s very important in 10U ball that we follow a strict lineup and we both have to give eachother a receipt of the lineup. Thanks!

It would be very helpful to have a demo of each of these at the end of their respective segment. For me, I found it difficult to visualize the games 2. two-ball and 5. 18/21 outs.

This looks really interesting. Thanks for sharing. It would be extremely helpful to extend the video with you executing this in a real practice with kids to see it in action because I still feel like there are too many variables depending on age and conditioning level for our team to try this in practice.

I want to say thank you SO MUCH for all your videos. I was not an athletic kid, but we signed our son up for baseball since that was the only game in town. I quickly fell in love with the sport but it was hard to find videos that simply explained the rules and concepts of the game where both I and my son could understand. Now I'm binge watching all your videos so I can be an expert. I ended up as the "official unofficial" announcer and score keeper for the team and learning the specific rules help me understand what's going on in the field and with the umpire so I can accurately keep track of everything. You're low key one of the best KZbin channels I've ever watched. Thank you!!

What is 6-9?
@buildingbetterbaseball
@buildingbetterbaseball 3 ай бұрын
Hi there - position 6 is shortstop and position 9 is right field. There wouldn’t really be a time when you would write that on a scorebook since they rarely have any plays where the SS would throw to RF for an out, but you never know!

Great pointers. I can relate to these things after years of coaching my kid. I think another big mistake is to assume you’re a good coach because you played baseball, including those who played at a high level. Coaching kids is a different skill.
