Yep, the gravel has to be very technical to actually need a big tire. Also, most of the knobs on gravel tires are useless, they just slow you down.

Great vids, giving me a real insight into bike packing. I've been hiking and wild camping for years and I'm looking to start bike packing. I've got a road bike and MTB so I'll use those to start off with, I was just wondering which bike model you use, and is a gravel bike a great "do it all" bike? Thanks
@lovescycling8810 ай бұрын
Thank you really kind comment, thanks for watching, I use a specalized diverge e5 elite (www.primera-sports.com/bikes/pgr/specialized-diverge-elite-e5-in-blue__101) Now I've started this I actually think a gravel bike with flat bars will be best 😂, I don't think suspension will be needed.
@simonsnow541910 ай бұрын
@@lovescycling88 Thanks for the quick reply. If you're looking for a reliable bike packing tent have a look at the Terra Nova laser compact 1 person or 2. I use the two person for myself on the hills and the compact versions of the tent have shorter pole sections specifically for bike packing. They're quite expensive but you won't be waking up in a puddle. Hope this helps, onwards and upwards and let the bike packing adventures commence!!!

It might get better worth getting a bivvi bag if your tent leaks. It’ll keep your sleeping bag dry

Hey, thanks for watching really appreciate it, that's a pretty good idea, it is a new tent but water got in the ventilation holes each end, luckily the sleeping bag stayed mostly dry on the inside. Thanks for the comment

for the sleeping pad there should be a sleeve with is inside the sac itself, this increase the volume of the sac drastically and it shouldn't take as long to fill up. You could also just blow into it, however it can cause moisture to get inside from your breath.
