I thought this guy would get roasted in the comments but love the support. I just kept yelling at the screen to look at run info. Definitely hard to figure out at first but I at least understood poker hands. Glad he was still able to enjoy it through the learning curve. It will serve him well when he really starts to understand the complexity.

I love watching new players! I noticed the early levels can be tricky since the tutorial is so basic. Here are a few tips to help you out: Check 'Run Info' to see how much each hand is worth. In your first few rounds, Pairs and Two Pairs score poorly because you haven't bought any upgrades yet. Early on, aim for a Straight, Flush, or Full House to win levels quickly. Earn interest by saving money-avoid spending in the first ante unless a great card appears. You get more money the more hands you have left. Add cards you want to discard to your hand-they won't score but can be removed without using a discard. For example, add a '2' to clear it when you have 4 Kings. If you bought jokers, play hands that match their effects. A 'Flush' joker won't help if you keep playing Straights. Would love seeing you play this Oh, if you are a veteran player and read this: I on purpose kept his as short as possible and didn't mention any exceptions to these rules. This is just meant as a super basic guideline for players getting into this game and playing their very first rounds.
