Great lap by Larry in the old VL . CAMS made sure they had plenty of new parts under the hood and allowed to run high RPM , from memory 8000 rpm and Group C TWR jaguar brakes ….which were the best brakes available at the time especially running @ 1250kg - down from originally 1340kg.

If they go back to when this happened and re do the race exactly to the same conditions even make the track the same it should start up car manufacturing in Australia again.

I was wearing my FPR shirt in 2009 on a mufti day at my old workplace - Orix Australia. We received an office wide notification that Greg Murphy had come for a work related visit, and if anyone wanted to meet him they could go to the boardroom office to do so. I promptly took the opportunity to go up there - and when I entered the room, I got a few laughs from Management and some comments like ; "Ah, here we go!" ( That I was a diehard Ford fan was well known around the office well prior. ) I shook Greg's hand, and we had a couple friendly jabs about the whole Ford vs Holden thing to which I joked ; "Mate, if I knew you were coming into the office I would've worn my signed Marcos Ambrose jersey!" - this got a few more laughs -- and Greg was nothing but a professional gentleman through and through about it. He praised Ambrose's championship wins and also about his new stint at Nascar etc. He downplayed the entire thing - nothing awkward about it whatsoever. Greg is a top bloke for sure! It was a pleasure to meet him. :)

If the GT-R was in Europe properly in the group A era they would have learned real fast what Oppression looks like lol.
