I tried them on my yeti Sb100 for a couple of months and they were good. They did have wobble on both tires so I’m not surprised that you had that. Probably the only tire I’ve had in a while that has wobble on both. Never had wobble maxes or specialized tires and to have both of them with wobble was pretty weird

I just ordered a 2.6 T9 for the front of my Alpine Trail 7. I didn't want a Butcher (yet) but we'll see. Ive got a Dissector in the rear right now, hoping it rolls better than the Vee Tire Flow Snap I've had on the front so far.

i have ridden with the ztto dr190 (non boost) that comes stock with a 54t ratchet. initially with a 120Nm motor, now with a 160Nm. have never broken a 54t ratchet with the 120Nm motor, snapped 3 54t ratchets with the more powerful motor, always in weird situations, propably involving chain slap. the 36t ratchets hold up extremely well though, also they're a lot cheaper

I suspect a lot of ratchet failures are due to not having the driver installed correctly and the tiny amount of play grinds off the teeth of the ratchet

@@ShredHeadSports my failures were instantaneus, no gradual wear. just a random hit right after a tiny amount of freewheeling, obviously with motor power. again, only 54t ratchets failed, 36t held up very well

I have two years experience on the xr3. most of my rising is on areas with chunky rocky climbs. the rubber is the softest and stickiest rubber ive had on a tire. great grip on wets roots and rocks

If you're going to use this type of tire you better know how to use those edge knobs by leaning the bike over in a corner. If you aren't confident enough to lean the bike over to engage the side/edge knobs the cornering abilities of this type of tire is going to be lost on you. You'd be better off with the XR4

I run the 275x2.6 at 22 psi they definitely give more bite Don’t get me wrong they ain’t DHR/F but the difference in weight and playfulness I think is worth it.

Specialized Renagade, Fast Trak and Ground Control. In that order from speed to grip. I’ve rode many tires, mainly MAXXIS, and these are all ya need for XC and Trail riding 😅

I had issues loosing it in every corner with my old xc tires. I put a ground control on the front and have zero complaints. I love that tire. It never looses grip anymore. Then I have a 26x2.0 hardrocker in the rear but I’d like something with a little more climbing grip. My issue is I have 26” still which is hard to find now.

Eliminator had mild wear on the front. T9 was too much grip 😅 fast trak is the standard for xc tires. Love them

@@ShredHeadSports Yep, I have a couple of old Fast Trak's, but on steep trails they aren't confidence inspiring. You have to ride really careful with them. I had really good experiences with the 2,4" Ardent. But they were too wide for my taste. It felt like that I am on a full sus bike. The 2,3" Eliminators might be a good compromise between reliability, grip and cushioning.

I have put on some Eli T7 back and forth. It might be slower due to the extra weight, but man those tires are quick rolling, and they offer a really good traction. The steep, scary downhills are enjoyable with those tires. I might keep them on for a while, then try some pirellis.

I feel like this tire must not be widely known, very good tire. I weigh 220 and use the grid trail casing with T7 compound, front and rear in a 2.6w. Set up on i30 rims on a 140 trail hard tail. Never had a puncture with these and have cased on rocks and roots and smacked square edges plenty. Been running on them coming up on a year, the t7 has held up better than I thought for how compliant they feel on the trail. I do feel they favor being more n the rear as they are able to get into and out of controlled slides with grace.

I like the fast trak on the front. If you want more side support, look at the Ground Control. If weight isn’t an issue, I’d suggest the grid casing. It adds a lot of stability

Did you notice a lowering of the stack height. Changing angle drops front of bike - without doing trigonometry ( 50 yrs ago) I am not sure how to calculate it.

Both tires are better suited toward trail riding. I’d suggest continental race king, Maxxis cross mark or Ikon 2.35 for 50% road 50% trail

I've only used Speciaized tires for years, they make XC tires that are hard to beat, light, roll fast, climb great, gripton even helps on wet roots etc, the newest Viet Nam generation is amazing, but my lap times go down once they are ridden in, and the little tits on the knobs are gone, then the laps time come down, renegade is a great tire for racing, its doesn't last long, Fast Traks are great on hard pack, Ground controls if it starts getting soft, Annika Langvad has a video about the new tires, I'll post it below, Annika has retired, but she went out soo cool, she did some road racing, and showed them what a real Mountain Biker can do, not just jump over the pelethon. but she kicked their asses, without know how to draft, she just goes FAST, she has more World Championships then maybe anyone, Marathon, XCO, and 5 Cape Epic wins, plus her final year riding road, she is amazing, her words a golden, just cuz' she has so much gold,, check out her video below.. I run it in the front with a slaughter in the back for summer riding. They work great and can climb and corner very well. Super combo for riding fast hard pack and mixed trails on my 150 bike

Once you wear the new tires in things get much better, the small tits on the new tires (made in Viet Nam at a new plant) give lower lap times, then once the tits are gone, better everything, the Renegade does good, but it don't last as long as the Fast Trak,, I like the S-Works Fast Trak dual compound T5/T7 versions, much lighter at just over 600 grams, but they have thinner sidewalls.

Thoughts on a fast trak rear, ground control front setup? The Butcher and purgatory setup on my stumpjumper is a little too aggressive tire setup for what i do. Great vid!

Butcher/Purgatory is a solid setup with a lot of confidence in cornering. Ground Control/Fast Trak would be a good light trail combo. You’re giving up a lot of side knob support but gaining rolling resistance. I’d do it if you’re looking for a slight step to a more nimble setup

A couple of questions... 1) why did you decide to go with just a 1° and not the 2° option? 2) Did you feel the reach changing a little too much that now the frame feels small? Thank you

Hello! 1.) there was only 1 degree available. 2 degree isn’t available for ZS headsets. I would have done 2 if it were available 2.) I didn’t notice the reach difference that much. The stability improvement was worth it.

I have two pairs of those hubs. Mine had 36t ratchets. In one of my hubs it failed me the same way failed yours, then I spoke with the seller and he sent me replacement ratchet rings. Now almost 1 year later they're holding up pretty well.

I also have a Maxxis Aggressor on 27.5 but it is a DD side wall. I drive on the rocky terrain of the Alps in Europe...😃
