so then which faculty/ discipline then leads us to adress & work on these 5 disciplines so that they're aligned ? must be our neo-cortex. to me often 'overlooked' in more spiritual-ish scenes, yet essential in healthy discernment and holding the overall (helicopter) view. I bet Vivian has a pretty large prefrontal lobe ;) coming up with this beautiful and wise material

Here are highlights: “It is a late stage discovery to recognize the poison of taking ourselves too seriously and its antidote lightheartedness and delight.” “It is a characteristic of maturity to discover that not knowing is the highest form of knowing.” “What is ego? Ego underlies the universal drive to explain. It represents the striving of human beings to understand themselves and the world they live in. Ego is the tireless organizer, interpreter, and synthesizer of experience. Its task is to turn experience into a coherent narrative about the world and make us thereby feel safe, important, and to belong. How does it do that? It does so by telling a culturally influenced story about who we are, why we're here, and for what purpose. Overall, the ego labors mightily to create and maintain meaning and vigorously defend against dissonant information. Indeed, when we are not able to tell a good story about ourselves, our past, and our future, we feel lost.” “Languages divide the seamless experience into separate objects with distinct boundaries and evaluative attributes. We are so totally immersed in a sea of symbols that we hardly notice the way it lures us into the dream of knowledge. The idea of a separate self in Western cultures is just one result of this phenomenon.” “The first half of the arc image shows the movement from the unconscious unity of the infant at birth to an ever more accurate, unique, and separate self-identity at stage 4. At the apex of the arc, the boundary between 'me' and 'not me', between 'this' and 'that', is most clearly articulated. Stage 4 represents the 'ideal' adult in modern Western society. It is analytical; it trusts that humans can figure out solutions to all problems-if not now, in the future. However, people at stage 4 do not yet fully recognize their historical, geographic, cultural, and linguistic conditioning. The discovering of having been socialized in specific beliefs about what is real is an aspect of stage 4/5. Individuals are now aware that other people have their own perspectives and unique programming to deal with and their own way of telling their stories. Rational, linear analysis is often rejected in favor of free-spirited self-expression. One realizes that life and the world is stranger and less predictable than one believed up to now. Great uncertainty to one really is outside of social conditioning is part of the confusion and the challenge of stage 4/5. At the same time, self-questioning allows for a sense of curiosity, of freedom, and the open road.” “No conscious effort at overcoming ego’s workings will achieve the goal of ego liberation. The more one seeks detachment, the more attached one is to whatever one is seeking.” “Mature integration as a human being entails an increasing capacity to notice ego’s unflagging efforts at explaining and remaining in charge.”

These [AQAL] Integral European Conferences and all similar... are just a new pusssh from the rainbow hippies... stacked full of RED #3 ... and since all time ... from Italian Renaissance to Enlightenment to 1960's sex drugs rock and roll to now ... they never get anywhere except "cutting loose" ... in every era ... However... AQAL is the solution for all of humanities ails that have plagued us for the last 5000 years... (many thanks to RED #3 Jwes!) ... And so ... we need to fly over the top of this Ken Wilber RED #3 fiasco peoples... And the New World formula = AQAL for Age and devoid of RED #3 Every nation to install... Every nation to 'hobble' their RED #3's ... Then what we've got is called TRACTION

Bence Ganti seems to have a surface understanding that all levels of development can be harmful and destructive. I continue to have grave concerns about the ethics of the people and corporations associated with his conferences including their authoritarian censorship of free speech. Buyers beware.

One of the most important lessons that I have learned from Ken Wilber is that it can be cool to appreciate and integrate what is good and healthy from all levels of development, including from modern Western culture. I get to spend time with people from all over the world and at all developmental levels. Learning this lesson has allowed me to genuinely connect with, work with, and admire many different types of persons. This is the first time that I have taken the time to discover that the Integral European Conference Company has some beneficial content to share with humanity that does not appear to have the flavor of 1980’s we get rich quick scheme about it. This is a good thing.

Servant Leadership was discerned centuries ago. It's a State thing. The reason it's not working is because capitalism rewards the absolute dregs of human moral Stage development. The lower you go, the more money is made and the more money is made, the lower you have to go to make your stockholders happy. This is no mystery. I've never understood the "Leadership Industry". It always seemed like a big joke to me. A bunch of rich people exchanging one another's time and money so they can impress Green investors and buy another Ferrari. Jamie Wheal got the memo a long time ago. You should too. btw, you didn't make it clear why you left Big Pharma sales. Did you ever _actually_ leave it? Or are you still working for Satan?

44:09 This. This is why Millennials are all either chronically anxious or nihilists. Jesus. Seriously, tho. I am the same age as many of the people who Parented Millennials and I was horrified by what many of them were doing to their kids. I didn't do a very good job either, but it was not the same failure as theirs. LOL Totally different kind of failure!

I came here because I was under the impression that this was about human developmental levels. So, when you dropped that it wasn't at the beginning, I felt disappointed. And I also noticed a mixing of the language as you talked. So, to be clear: _This is _*_not_*_ about how shadow emerges and is resolved for different developmental levels! This is about a 5-step process of resolving shadow!_ Correct?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but what is the purpose of IEC? To go for boat rides, punch a mattress, dance, swim, a cookout, bonfires, and all those other fun activities? I thought this was about Integral Theory? And what is actually required of us to be MORE Integral every year? Why would I spend so much money going to Europe to have all this fun while integral theory becomes an afterthought? If this was the intention, hey, no problem. IEC says it *_unpacks the full potential of the integral approach, fleshing out the shared vision with new findings, applications, research and experiential processes to accelerate change in the world_* Really? As much as I find Ken Wilber's ideas profound and meaningful, the question arises as to the degree in which IEC is actually making a living breathing transformative difference in the world. Then again, this event is not about real change. It's a social gathering for like minded individuals who want to get together to have fun and praise Integral Theory like evangelicals praising Jesus; spiritual bypassing comes to mind. There are countless videos, conferences, lectures, and books on all manner of high minded ideas, meditation, and waking up but I have not yet found anything on how to grow the hell up. According to Lynn Fuentes, she said that we cannot wake up unless we grow up first. Is she wrong? If not, then isn't growing up suppose to be one of the main purposes of IEC? Because, let's face it, no one is going to achieve enlightenment in our life time unless we become a monk and it takes many years even for monks to realize it. If IEC's mission is to grow up, the conference would not be so much fun and games. You would have all those involved taking on some serious deep psychotherapy specifically designed to free us from our unresolved pent up negative feelings (our shadow). To the degree in which we achieve this, is the degree in which we are free from our self created bondage. This would be a HUGE tangible transformational difference. But why aren't we doing it? Why are we so afraid to look within ourselves hence address once and for all the crap that's making our lives a fucking nightmare!? How can we possibly make a better world if we have not outgrown our inner conflicts and pent up unresolved feelings? In case you don't know, western Democracy, as we know it, is in crisis and no amount of Integral theories is going to save it. As Bill Malher said many times, the vast majority of the American people (and around the world) are too stupid to realize the degree in which they are being royally duped time and time again by political and religious ideologies that served us relatively well in the past but are now retrograde and dangerous. What Covid is to illness and death is what ignorance and stupidity is to the human mind. And so, how can IEC find a way to inoculate the masses from this utter madness? Where is the urgency as we had with Covid? What makes is think we will never have another WW? And it may be far worse than WWII. We seem to forget that the problems we have in the world are created by us and if we don't get our shit together, the future looks dim. So, where are you, IEC, on this?

Thank you for your comments. I think the video focuses on the elements of the conference that work visually. I have been at every IEC and there are MANY hours of lectures, presentations, workshops, including a lot of shadow work and serious practice every day that are not represented in this video. The person saying that it's like a holiday and 'occasionally' someone on the stage says something interesting has not been my experience. It's a great holiday for sure because the people are so interesting. The boat tour however is an add and not an essential part of the conference. Also the pandemic has shown us that we can conduct such gatherings without travelling and spending a lot of money which I think will be essential for any organisation wanting to be globally inclusive and serious about climate change. I am going to Budapest this year to learn how to present my work in a hybrid format. And also to conduct the first stage of a project taking ideas directly out into public space.
