I Sang this as a member of a concert choir years ago. It was a Joy and a privilege to sing those great and glorious choral works. One of my fondest life memories.

It seems these public service announcements didn’t help so much. The area in TN where my family lives is so trashy and many of the people too. Can’t understand why TN is so trashy unless it’s due to a real lack of education. Depressing. Europe and many parts of Asia are much cleaner.

That "4" logo here was based on the NBC late 70s "N" logo, which was associated w/ some of the network's worst years ever. NBC brought the Peacock back fall 1979, and WSM-TV had the nice rainbow colored "4" later as well.

This shmuck is exactly the type of person Steve would NEVER have let in. That check jacket - what a passion killer. He only got in because he was reporting for a TV station.

I was stationed there July 1961 til June 1962. I was assigned to trick 2 & worked for an Army Speck 5. My memories include the barge, scruffies & Boozer. Not the same now, as then.William "Bill" Penland.

@2:10 - Samuetta Primus! Thanks for the memory!! My grandmother was a huge WSM watcher; I used to watch "The Noon Show" with her. "Scene at 6" was on our TV every night. I remember Teddy Bart, Ralph Emery, Dan Miller, Boyce Hawkins, Paul Eells, Bill Hall, and a LOT of the field reporters. I remember when we had John Tesh and Pat Sajak before they were household names. Met Huell Howser several times, incredibly nice. And who can forget George "By George" Goldtrap?! Great memories - thanks for posting!

Detroit had its version, called Cheeks. They were very selective. Local news anchor Doris Biscoe was turned away, she wasn’t happy. The following week, the club was passing out bumper stickers that read “No Disco for Biscoe”. I wish I had one, LOL.
