Strange - did the 12-13 use a different cable, but 07-11 and 14-20 used the same? Also is the 5.3 V8 (SS model) the same?
@BushingfixFL8 күн бұрын
Fitment is based upon year and yes in many years the cable ends are different. Here's the link to fitment - find your year - BE SURE to decide and read which end it fits......in some cases the same kit will work on either end; in other years it requires a different bushing for upper end compared to lower end of shift cable.

Hi! Does the face of the bushing that has the divisions go towards the driver's side (shifter) or towards the passenger?
@BushingfixFL16 күн бұрын
Install the bushing into the shift cable end by pushing the bushing into the cable end so that the notched end will be on the side closest to the shift lever. You should be able to use your fingers for the installation. After installation, you can discard the installation driver. Also, here's the link with really detailed step by step instructions: www.bushingfix.com/bp1kit/

Thank you very much. I was sitting here thinking that I was going to have to cut out the middle piece, and you just confirmed that for me. As a bonus tip, I just used a 6mm quarter inch drive deep socket to help me press the linkage through the clip. I put the clip in place, put the 6mm on top of it, and held it firmly in place while I pushed the linkage through into the 6mm socket, and everything snapped together perfectly.

Then did you receive the correct bushing? And then ultimately what is happening at the installation site. I apologize that the video and details written within the listing didn't assist you. Since you dont mention your particular question I will start a the beginning. The Transmission shift cable is the line of communication that runs from your gear selector knob ....alerting the transmission as to what gear you have selected. It has an upper end that requires a bushing; and a lower end that requires a bushing. Additionally if your Liberty is 4x4 it will have a transfer case that also has a cable and it also requires two bushings. I have included two links here to assist you - one if the listing of bushing fitment for Jeep Liberty. Simply select your year, and which cable you are needing a bushing. www.bushingfix.com/jeep-liberty-shift-cable-bushing-options/. Second link is a very detailed installation and instruction guide. Simply find your kit (from the drop down menu) they are alphabetized; and for each kit there is both a video (which you say wasn't helpful to you) and then step by step with pictures written instructions. www.bushingfix.com/instructions/

I apologize! Since our bushings are only for shift cables we mistakenly thought folks would know that runs from the gear selection knob to the transmission. To find the SPECIFIC diagram for your vehicle google year, make, model and shift cable diagram. That should pull up the factory specifications for your vehicle.

The description on the website says the bushing are for the transmission end, so the kit is for both ends?
@BushingfixFL2 ай бұрын
Each kit has specific wording such as fits both end of transmission shift cable (if that's the case); fits only shifter end of cable (when that's the case) or fits only transmission end of cable. Depending upon precise information year and model of versa as well as transmission depends on which kit will work for each end. I hope this helps! If not please email me at [email protected]

Hello, is this to fix a gear that’s hard to shift? My 2012 Spark is getting really hard to change gear due to being really notchy 😫
@BushingfixFL2 ай бұрын
Absolutely this could be caused by a failing or defective bushing at one or even both of the ends on the shift cable.
@richierich25393 ай бұрын
Where is the location of it though?
@BushingfixFL2 ай бұрын
The gear shift cable runs from interior of vehicle (from base of gear selector knob) underneath and ultimately connects to the transmission. It's like a telephone line to communicate between the two ends.

@BushingfixFL3 ай бұрын
This could be the bushing. The only 100% way of knowing is to inspect the bushing at each end of the shift cable The easiest is the one connecting to the transmission - disconnect and see if bushing is cracked; gone or partially gone. If intact reconnect; then do the same at upper end of cable at base of gear selection knob.
@Rise_Higher-4443 ай бұрын
How do we know if we need the cable too ?
@BushingfixFL3 ай бұрын
The Majority of the time it is just the bushings. Simply disconnect and inspect bushing at each end (both the transmission end as well as the upper gear selector end of shift cable) if bushings are fully intact then inspect the length of the shift cable for cuts or breaks.
