Sorry, the OUTPUT is not depending on the input it depends on the SYSTEM! That's your first mistake. If the input is an electrical system and the center is a projector with film rolls (a full one and an empty one) then the output is solely depending on that system of "projection" transferred to a screen. The light that's needed is produced by the electric system, yes, but what you watch on the screen is the result of the "projector" in the center. The INPUT is either voltage or no voltage. The output can be images, sound, etc. depending on the projector.

So where does the Bode plot come from? This is a waste of time. It is teachers teaching what they have been taught and think is important. What is important is to record the control signal and response as a function of time and use that data to find the coefficients of a differential equation. This is called system identification. Now you have the transfer function. Doing what is shown in the video is backwards.
