As a Wilderness Ranger in the 90's I spent a lot of time enjoying this area. Bad side the Rock fire rings and trash but I tried to keep it in a natural state. Fond memories.

I came across your ' memory of mom ' while looking at some hiking possibility. Beautiful !!! I lost my mom 3 years ago on Mom's day. What was written at the end...I wish I could say only a small part of my soul n life could feel those words...but . I think the more pain the more love. An amalgamation of sorts

Lily, I am so sorry to hear what you have been through, but I am happy to see you stepping back in to the light. I lost my 13 year old son to suicide in 1998. I too nearly went over the edge in to the abyss. I made a decision to go the other way and live a life my son would be proud of if he is watching. I am so glad you are at the point where you can share your story and in doing so, help others. I am thinking all the best thoughts for you, and sending some love and strength you way.
@CatskillLily7 жыл бұрын
Hi Bart. Thank you for sharing the loss of your son to suicide here. My heart goes out to you. I appreciate your kind words. Through the grace of God I've stepped back into the light and am moving towards happiness again and peace. Reaching out a hand for help was the first step to that kind of acceptance. I'm glad you also found a way to move forward and be happy. Thank you again.

Hi Tom. Thank you for watching my memorial video for my mom. I'm sorry it made you feel sad, but I appreciate your wishes and kindness. You're very young and hopefully you'll have loads more years with your mum. It's lovely to read how much you appreciate her. Kind thoughts to you, and to your mum.

Oh Lily, as I watched the video and read the poem, the tears started to flow as I realized that this was a memorial to your Mom. I am sad for your loss, but I am happy for your Mother as she is free of her body and her soul is with God. You and your Mom have the same beautiful eyes. Although your Mother may be gone from this existence, she has left us the gift of you, and she will always be alive in your memories.

Bart, if you get there, consider the hike by this bridge (Midgely Bridge) - Wilson trail. It's a great hike. Parking is limited so an off day is best, and be sure to pay to park at the lot pay station.

@CatskillLily7 жыл бұрын
Wonderful time of year to go! Hope you enjoy the ride, stay safe. If you have time to hike any of the trails along the 89A they are so beautiful. There's a nice one by Midgley bridge if you can find a space to park (it's a small parking area). They have a pay to park station in the lot though so it's convenient to get the day pass there. A lovely trail goes around in a loop, first the canyon trail then the mountain trail and you can still see Midgley bridge in the distance most of the hike. Not the Huckaaby trail but the Wilson.

What is the name of the trail you hike. I have been to this one but I cant remember the name of this trail in Clear Creek
@CatskillLily7 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathie - I honestly don't know if it has a name. If it does, I've never seen it posted. There is a very old sign near the trail-head but there is absolutely nothing on the sign lol. The trail looks like it is really a mountain runoff that hikers have sort of made into a trail over time. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. It's reached from a series of Forest Roads off the 260 - not far from the 87 (Beeline) turn onto the 260.
@cathieaguilar74227 жыл бұрын
do you know how i would get there coming from east mesa ? i tired to google it but no luck
@CatskillLily7 жыл бұрын
Yes - take the 60 to the Beeline (87/Country Club) north to the 260. Turn left onto the 260, drive 3.1 miles. Then, turn right onto FR144 for 1.8 miles, turn left onto FR149 for 1.2 miles, turn right onto FR142 for 1 mile then left onto FR142E for 2.7 miles to a parking area. Trailhead is there. It's a rugged hike down a permanent stream through a forest canyon. There's some route finding, bushwhacking, boulder hopping, wading and possible swimming. Crawfish and trout clear as day around your feet. Waterproof EVERYTHING. Enjoy!

I'd be very careful in this canyon, extremely rugged with lots of rattle snakes and several armed squatters, be safe.
@CatskillLily8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely good points, Ryan! I live very close to the trailhead now in Yavapai County and had my firt rattler of the season on my back patio just a week ago. Our land has a lot of scorpions on it as well - we use a black light flashlight to find them at night. This hike is worth all the wildlife to see and enjoy but precautions should always be taken on all desert/high desert hikes especially seasonally. :) thanks!
